We found this book invaluable as a resource on our first trip to Paris recently. In addition to the very helpful descriptions of places of interest, as well as Rick's personal comments, we also found the maps and diagrams equally helpful. We usually make it a point to pick up a Rick Steves' guide to wherever we are going, and we were not disappointed with the information the Paris guide yielded to us.

I purchased Rick Steve's book for my upcoming trip to Paris. The book provides lots of useful information about things to see and do. I recommend it if you want detailed information about the city, including recommended restaurants, hotels and attractions. I must say I was a little disappointed to learn the 2010 edition came out only 2 months after I purchased the 2009 one. B&N needs to develop a system to let buyers know that a new edition is expected to be published soon.

I give copies of Rick Steeve's books to friends traveling to Europe. Every book has had numerous suggestions that have really paid off. He gives the right amount of information -- too many travel books try to tell the reader everything. For a first timer -- this is just confusing. Tell me what I need to know.

I liked this travel guidebook better than several others that I purchased. Rick Steves presents his information as a traveler, not just as a provider of information. His tips are helpful and thorough and well presented. I will buy his books from now on.

This book is great. I intially borrowed it from my local library before buying it. I found the type of information that I was looking for, and I will be taking it with me when we go to Paris this summer. I think that it gives very useful information, especially regarding the best and worst times to do certain things. This book has practical information that I know I will use. I am very happy with this purchase

We bought 4 guidebooks to plan our trip to Paris and Rick Steves guide was the one we wound up carrying everywhere with us. The depth of information and easy to use style made it worth to carry with us everyday. We noticed lots of other travelers also carrying this book. We also carried Rick's French phrase book with us and highly recommend it if your visiting France and don't speak the language.

I love reading his books and find them to be helpful in a city I have never been. I enjoy reading his review of the area and because of his reviews for other cities I find that these are dead on and safe to pick his favorite locations. I also like the honesty. He is not, or I don't think he is, getting paid to write a good review. If he says an area is less than desireable then it usally is.
