Rick Wade: Investigationsby Bill Howard
Twilight was fading into darkness and an eerie silence heightened his trepidation as Clint began to descend the stairway that led to the basement level. The foul odor of urine assailed his nostrils. Mentally berating himself for not having his flashlight he felt along the wall until he reached the bottom. The battered door stood slightly ajar. He slowly pushed it open with his foot as he entered the totally dark interior. He felt along the wall for and found a light switch. Flipping it on and off a couple times he realized there would be no light. He slowly began to make his way into the room hand still on the wall for guidance. His senses alert prepared for any event. As he took another step his right foot touched something on the floor nearly losing his balance. Reaching into his jacket pocket he was glad for the cigarette lighter there. Clicking it into a flame he realized it was a body. Touching the neck he felt for a pulse. There was none. "Rick you better come down here and see this," he called out. Thus was the Rick Wade agency thrust into a search for missing bonds and to solve two homicides.
