Intense, dangerous, and perfectly dirty! Ride Me Hard will leave you breathless.” New York Times Bestselling author Skye Warren

When a big scary biker shows up at Jimmy's Diner fifteen minutes before the end of my shift—covered in tattoos and looking at me like I'm on the menu—I should flip the open sign to closed.

But I don't.

I'm too used to doing what I've been told. Too used to working and struggling and surviving to do anything different. A closed sign wouldn't stop him anyway. He's here to collect a debt. And I'm the only one left to pay.

RIDE ME HARD is just the beginning. The wildly erotic journey continues with BREAK ME IN. These are short, hot reads, sure to leave you panting for more.

“Dirty, beautiful, gritty and wild. If I don't get more right now I'll die!” - New York Times Bestselling author Annika Martin

About the Author

Shari Slade is a snarky optimist. A would-be academic with big dreams and very little means. When she isn’t toiling away in the non-profit sector, she’s writing gritty stories about identity and people who make terrible choices in the name of love (or lust). Somehow, it all works out in the end. If she had a patronus it would be a platypus.

I'm so tired of these short serial books designed to make more money for the author and the publisher while frustrating and scamming the reader. If we stop buying them eventually they will get the hint. Write the whole book and charge more for it. I'd rather pay more for the whole book than get parts for cheap. Otherwise I'm saying NO!

This book has the potential to be a great story but it's too long winded. Shari's character Star just drones on and on with usless information. There's a great build up to amazingly hot sex that never happens. Noah could be the bad ass biker alpha male of all time but the book is not long enough to find out. Sorry Shari but I 'm afraid I can't recommend this book.

I love biker books, but this one just didn't do it for me. The actual book started on page 6 on my Nook, and ends on page 37. I'm glad it was free.

This is a good short read. Very steamy and a little rough. Can't wait to read the next one I got for free.

Ride Me Hard by Shari Slade is the first book in her new five-part serial, Devil's Host MC. This is a really great book/s. The pacing of the story was practically perfect. For a short serial novella, the author got to the heart of the story without feeling like it was rushed or missing anything. As a serial tends to do, there is a cliffhanger ending. So be prepared :-D Star is a woman with absolutely nothing left to lose. She is working at a diner making next to nothing and probably won't make her next rent payment. Noah is the smoking HOT biker that shows up at the diner and knocks her life completely off course. There is no slow build up with this storyline. Violence, sex, kidnapping and torture is just the beginning...

Great short erotic read. Star is one messed up chic but I feel for her she's alone in the world latching on to a dangerous hot biker who wants to ravage her seems like a much better choice than living the boring sad existence she has been living. Let's see where this decision gets her though I am not sure Noah gave her much choice in the matter. Moving on to book two. Received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Decent start but this is a serial. If you want a flavor of the series before committing to spend your money this is a freebie. At about 45 pages there isn't too much room for character or plot development, but there is enough to be satisfactory. I am not a lover of serials and hope the author will be offering it as a single purchase for the set in the near future. Adult read

Shari does an amazing job of making you "see" the characters considering it's only a novella. I didn't feel like I was shorted anything by this not being a full length novel. She does leave it with a bit of a cliff hanger, but nothing that leaves you going WTH just happened there and since the next installment comes out soon, you know you don't have to wait too long to see what comes next. You really want to hate Noah (since he's the "big, bad biker guy") but at the same time it's almost like he's trying to be a good guy. This book is H-O-T which is pretty impressive considering there is a story there as well as the hotness. I suggest everybody who's looking for something H-O-T and short to read this, you won't be disappointed.

Wait one damn minute I just got blind-sided by a hot sexy ass biker named Noah who seems to have more going on then just that bad ass attitude. Noah and Star’s story is just starting with this book one and since the writing is excellent this continuing story will be well worth the wait.

With gritty realism, Shari Slade starts us off on what promises to be a bumpy, sexy ride in this first part of a 5 part serial. It's not intended to be read as a standalone, but the parts are planned to be released in a reasonably quick succession so you won't have long to wait between them. And this is a good thing because once you start reading, you'll be ready for more! Told from Star's point of view, she gives us a glimpse of what life is like as a waitress in a diner, barely making ends meet when at the end of a long day He walks in. " I can't process all of him at once. He's that big. He is scruff and muscle and a white T-shirt tucked into dusty jeans. He looks weathered and road weary, like most of Jimmy's clientele, but...more. Everything about him is intense." He is Noah, a rough and ready member of the Devil's Host motorcycle club. He's there to collect a debt from Harry, Star's cousin who works with her at the diner. Upon seeing Noah, Harry disappears out the back door, running for his life and leaving Star to pay his debt, which Noah plans to collect -in the flesh. I love how you get sucked into the story right from the first page as all of Star's thoughts and emotions are laid bare - her depression at the way her life is going, her instant yet fearful attraction to Noah, and her realization that if she doesn't have a choice, she might as well enjoy the ride. Yet though Noah has a tough exterior and a hard way about him there are glimpses of tenderness towards Star as the story progresses that make her suspect there is more to him than meets the eye. The sex between them is hot and intense and written with a bare honesty - no flowery words, love laments or the like - it's dirty all the way. "He climbs in after me and presses the length of his body against mine. Lining us up so we are mouth to mouth. His fingers slide into my hair, and I sigh at the massaging touch, moan at the pinch and pull when he tangles it up into his fist. He works his other hand between us, trailing it up my inner thigh." Star has to make some choices and the ones she makes are going to direct the course of her life. The ending of this part is set in such a way that if you wanted, you could let Star ride off into the sunset with Noah (so to speak) and assume they have a happily ever after. But there are enough clues to indicate that things are going to get worse before they get better, and Noah is clear that his MC life is driving all his decisions, including ones about Star. The intense sexual connection between them is what pulls you into this first part of the story and I can't wait to see where they are headed! 4 stars.
