About the Author

Dr. Marc Faber is a Hong Kong-based investment adviser and publisher of the Gloom, Boom and Doom Reports. Faber formerly ran the Drexel Burnham Lambert office in Hong Kong but when it collapsed, he set up his own finance investment boutique. The plain speaking Faber is well-recognised as an expert on Emerging Markets and has been warning Asia for many years of its impending - and now current - financial crisis.

Nury Vittachi's father was a Muslim; his mother was a Buddhist; his uncle was a Brahmin; his wife is a Christian; his children wereadopted from a Chinese Taoist community; and his grandfather was standing next to Mahatma Gandhi at the moment the Hindu leader was assassinated. The richness of this background, and the clarity and humour of his delivery, has made him one of Asia's most popular writers and speakers. His major employers over the past 10 years have been the South China Morning Post and the Far Eastern Economic Review.
