I was into the book right away -- dived right in and was continuously reeled in until about the half way mark when I felt myself continuously awaiting the anticipation of a climax that never came. There was a lot of build-up, great build-up but I feel I was jipped and left with a unorganized, all over, rushed ending. Unfortunate because I really started to like some of the characters, but the book lacked something and while it made it a "page-turner", it was only that since you are waiting for some sort of main event to take place that never does.

The book was slow to start, easily confusing with all the characters. Around half way through the book started taking shape and realed you right on in to the mayhem and antics of the high society women. They are very catty and naive in so many ways. Great read though. Especially loved the ending.

I loved this book. I thought it was really good. In the beggining I wasn't so sure but it got so much better. I loved the ending. Perfect.

you have to have a sense of humor about the world that these authors create and if you do, you will laugh out loud as i did. I just got it now even though it's been out because my friend was reading it and giggling to herself, always a good sign.

Awesome ending. The story keeps you going and anticipating what is going to happen next. You will catch yourself choosing sides with the characters and relating to all of them in some way or another. Easy and enjoyable read.

What a beach read! Buy it! I loved it. I gave it to all my friends and they couldnt put it down. The language of Jill is just so funny and quick witted, that I just wanted to read on and on

I read this after reading their other title 'Wolves in Chic Clothing' Although WICC was not amazing, it was certainly easier to handle than this one. I generally read a book in one day, maybe two. It took me a week to struggle through this mess. You expect a book about 'upper' society to be pretentious but this bordered on ridiculous and obnoxious. I will not be reading the authors again.

I very much enjoy the light-hearted easy read, but this book had nothing. I couldn't make it past the 3rd chapter for lack of anything remotely interesting. The characters were irritatingly shallow and the plot focused almost exclusively on ridiculous backstabbing. Wasn't worth the clearance price I paid for it.

I was really looking forward to reading this book. I love books about Manhattan society, etc.... But this did not meet my expectations. The plot dragged on and the characters were so shallow, I could not relate at all. This book did not keep my attention.

i thought it was a great book yes it was materialistic but its a great summer trash read meaning an entertaining book that fills you with no fruitful knowledge it was so much fun to read and imagine tourself in Melanie Korn's shoes. great read

The book wasn't as bad as people say. It was really funny for people like me who dream of being rich one day. Pick it up if your into clothing and other things.

I truly enjoyed this book. It gave an insider's view of the Park Avenue elite and was funny and enticing. Yes, it's a bit on the shallow side, but it made me laugh, which is my benchmark for judging a good book.

I wasn't sure I would like this book because I really like reading books written from the first person narrator but this was great. I really felt for the main character and while it was over-the-top it was fun. Would recommend.

I expected to find a fun, light, read but was dissapointed with a dull story about 'who' someone was wearing and whether or not they drove a Bently. I don't recall a single page passing without the authors trying to display their knowledge of couture and Cartier. The plot of this novel consisted only of designer labels, and the characters were weak and unlikable. I finished the book in hopes that it would reach some form of conclusion, but I was instead left with the realization that I had simply wasted my time.

Tedious really sums up the entire book, I was really disappointed by it. After reading other books about New York socialites I found this one boring and dull. I had a hard time reading a book full of middle-aged women whining about the things they did or didn't have and the money that they have but couldn't find anywhere to spend it. There are much better books out there and I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time on this one.
