Overview

From USA Today bestselling author Jessica Hawkins comes a witty workplace romance standalone filled with smart enemies-to-lovers banter and loads of inconvenient attraction...

There's a thin line between love and hate . . . and it cuts right through the middle of their office.

Bad boys run right over good girls like Georgina Keller, but after a confidence-shattering breakup, she's determined not to let anyone at her new workplace push her around. Especially not the brooding creative director, a "bad boy of publishing" who's made it clear she's enemy #1.

Sebastian Quinn's taste for fast cars, late nights, and beautiful women may have gotten him to the top of a leading New York magazine, but the reputation that made him is suddenly threatening to end his career. And even though everyone says pretty, pint-sized Georgina is there to help, he can't help thinking she's hoping to land the final blow—and maybe even his job.

Georgina can help Modern Man shed its bad reputation, but in order to do that, she'll have to start at the top—and no amount of rakish charm or inconvenient attraction will distract her.

Great read with great characters and entertaining storyline. The storyline always evolving and never boring. There is lots of humor but it does include serious issues to give story rich depth. Highly recommended!

Right off the bat I want to say how much I love the cover of this book - it really does it for me. As far as the inside....I liked it. I didn't love it, but it is a well-written contemporary romance. Like a few other books I read this year it is not the kind of romance you can qualify with specific tags/tropes, in my opinion. It's not dark, steamy or angsty. It has a very light enemies-to-lovers theme, but not the extreme E-to-L trope I generally mean when I am using that description. I laughed out loud a couple of times and smiled several, but I wouldn't term it a rom-com either. It's just kind of dead center contemporary romance. I liked the theme of both main characters having and reconciling their dual sides/personalities, and I liked Sebastian's family story thread and the small bits of jealousy he showed. Some of Georgina's quirks were cute and I loved Sebastian's best friend, Justin, and liked Georgina's, though Luciano seemed kind of like a token girl's gay best friend (side thought: are there any romances where the hero has a gay best friend?) I love a slow burn romance, and though some may use that to describe this book, for me it was missing the burn part. I never felt that burning chemistry between these two characters, not really, so I didn't have the delicious anticipation that I love best in a slow burn. So all of this adds up to a middle of the road "like" for me. I won a free copy of this book in an online contest.

I’m not sure if I can properly convey how much I loved this story. It was equal parts sexy, swoony and sweet. It’s the kind of book that reminds me of why I love the romance genre so much, the kind of book that leaves me with a smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling long after I finished it. It’s also the kind of book that reminds me why Hawkins is an automatic one click. The banter and chemistry between Georgina and Sebastian was spot on. I found myself cracking up several different times while reading. There was just something that was so charming and adorable about the way that they interacted with each other. This is a great change of pace from the ultra angst that the author usually writes but my goodness she knock it out of the park. I for one am hopeful for more rom/coms from her. There wasn’t one thing I didn’t love about his story. The plot, the characters, the one liners, it was all fantastic. Seriously, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I’ve got some serious heart eyes for these two, and I’d be over the moon to see this book made into s movie.

Georgina is a PR “fixer” and that is how she finds herself at Modern Man Magazine. Sebastian has used his bad boy reputation to take Modern Man all the way to the top. Suddenly that same reputation is threatening not only the magazine but his job. I hated that Georgina felt the need to have her alter ego “George” for business purposes. I’m all for woman using whatever gives them a leg up in the world of business but Georgina felt she had to be someone else in order to compete. This book had me laughing out loud in places. The characters are well developed and fun to read their interactions. I loved the banter amongst the team as they were brainstorming. This was my first book by Jessica Hawkins but I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

4 STARS FOR SEBASTAIN AND GEORGINA!! Wonderful story for that time you need a pick me up. This story had me feeling all the emotions smiling like crazy, laughing, mad, sad and full of love. Sebastian is that hot bad boy and Georgina is that beautiful sweet girl that everyone takes advantage of. These two have a great sexy story to tell you and you definitely need to listen to them. This story is on the softer side from this authors normal angsty side books.

5 Stars! Georgina Keller is a smart, savvy businesswoman living in New York. She’s fierce when it comes to her job as a PR specialist. She’s a fixer who’s passionate about problem solving, and is known as the best. Her latest project is to work with a popular men’s lifestyle magazine and help to polish up their brand and improve their image. She’s been hired to help them shed their bad boy image, but not everyone welcomes her with open arms. Sebastian Quinn is the creative director at Modern Man. He’s built his career, and made the magazine what it is today. He was well known in the publishing world as a notorious playboy. People envied him and wanted to be him, but lately his reputation was hurting him more than it was helping him when his magazine is under attack and his job is in jeopardy. His routine is disrupted when his boss hires what he views to be a glorified babysitter. Can Georgina and Sebastian work together without driving each other crazy? She’s a gorgeous thorn in his side. He’s attracted to her, but acting on it wasn’t an option. Georgina is recovering from a break up that shook her confidence, and she’s not about to let another man push her around in any way. The office gets heated as these two clash. Sexual tension and chemistry overflow as passion ignites. Sebastian’s a distraction she doesn’t need, but she’s drawn to him. He challenges her and pushes her out of her comfort zone. Sebastian is feeling so much, and finds himself wanting more. Is he ready to ditch the role he no longer fits for something real? I loved this enemies to lovers workplace romance! It’s a sexy story full of emotion and angst. It’s packed with humorous banter, great office friendships, and beautiful love. I also adored the side characters, and would love a book for Justin! As usual Jessica Hawkins created another swoony man for me to fall for. Sebastian is everything I love in a book boyfriend!

“Since I met you, I’ve been feeling... more like myself than I have in a while.” If you're worried that this is just another office romance, fear not. Jessica puts her own little spin on this story that makes it completely unique and absolutely swoon worthy. This book makes you want to strive to be a BETTER you. Both Georgina and Sebastian are dealing with their own personal obstacles in life. Those particular drawbacks are what ends up linking them and eventually has them coming together because of it. His words had always gotten under my skin easily, something I'd mistaken for rivalry. Now, I saw it for what it was--compatibility. Sebastian may have a reputation that claims he's a womanizer and a play boy, but deep down he's hiding his true self. "I'm not the player you think I am --I only play one in the media." Georgina may appear to others like someone that can get easily walked over. Someone that is TOO nice. TOO kind. And because of that, Georgina felt like she couldn't show her true self. She feared that she wouldn't be accepted. "When I met you, I'd been trying to hide or overcome my flaws out of shame. Then you came along and told me I was allowed to have them. That I was allowed to be kind." All of Sebastian and Georgina's fears and insecurities are faced in this novel and through each other, they find their HEA. There was undeniable chemistry between these two! I loved how you could feel their love slowly growing for each other in this novel. It was the epitome of slow-burn.You were able to see that they were finding a "home" within each other and at the same time, they were able to find themselves and overcome those obstacles in their lives. All they needed to do was find "the one" person that could see their flaws for what they were, BLESSINGS and LOVABLE. Jessica's writing is so detailed and layered with depth that it's impossible not to get lost in it. If you're looking for a easy read with emotional depth, real life personal challenges and minimal angst, this is the book for you. It has some serious moments that have you relating to the characters and empathizing with them, but then it has some funny moments that have you laughing and full of butterflies. Sebastian is most definitely the type of man I would want in real life. #swoon. And I have to say I LOVED one particular secondary character, Justin...he made up for most of the comedic relief in this story and was quite entertaining! I would be interested in reading his story, if Jessica was so inclined to write it *wink* 4 stars #BDE #DunkinDonuts #Cinnamon #Buns #Freckles #GummyBears #Bruno #Opal #DoubleFistedFlyingSquirrel

You ever read a book and you just keep reminiscing certain scenes, and find yourself smiling, giggling and maybe even moaning? That's what this book has done to me. I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. SO. MUCH! I was in a funk when I started, umm...except I'm now in another funk! It's the kind of book that makes you smile big, swoon hard - and repeatedly, laugh out loud and yes, there were a couple of times I dieeeeed all the deads. The sexy times were HAF, I mean, come on it's Jessica! I get butterflies in my gut when I think about these characters! And YES to the FEELS! I fell so hard for Sebastian and Georgina I never wanted their story to end! One of my favourite feel-good romances of the year!

This story gets three F's from me. Fun, fantastic, feel good read. I was engrossed in this story from the minute I opened it to page one. Georgina and Sebastian were perfect opposites attract material. This story was filled with witty banter, caveman shenanigans, quirky sassiness, some all around fun times and angst-y heat that keeps you on edge the entire book. But the story is also about so much more. It was about standing up for love and respect, believing in yourself and being true to who you are. This enemies to lovers book had everything we romance fanatics are looking for. My heart warmed throughout the story time and again. Although I will say that Opal and Bruno almost stole the show on this one! Don't miss how little, sassy red head Georgina or "buns" takes on the challenge of her life and whips bad boy Sebastian and his man gang in shape. I sure hope were going to get more spin offs to this story with Modern Man's editorial team!

Georgina and Sebastian meet over coffee. And, spilled coffee, and mean customers, and tears. Usually, when a public encounter goes this badly, you get to walk away from it and pretend it never happened. Sometimes, though, in real life (and more often admittedly in books) the other part of the embarrassing encounter is someone who is now a part of your life, in a way that you are not able to easily remove. Sebastian has run Modern Man for years. He pulled it from the brink of disaster, and now it is back to glory. Or it was. Things in his personal life changed, and with that change, he found that he was willing to let the magazine slip a little and not really care all that much about the fact that it was doing so...even though, I think he knew it was happening, he just didn't have it in himself to work that hard, again, to bring it back. Georgina is brought in as a consultant. To put the magazine, and it's team, back on track and to get them back to a functioning team. But, as she is dealing with the after effects of a devastating break up, the only thing that she has together in any real way is her work. When Sebastian challenges her at work, sparks fly and a line is drawn. Hate is on one side of the line, love on the other...and they are both firmly on the "hate" side of the line. The majority of the book is a slow burn flirtation with this line, with crtossing it, with pretending they don't want to, with wondering if they have already and wondering how the other feels. Until the line is gine...and in such a clever way that you know what is happening, but that gives both of them a chance to see if this is what they want. I loved this, as it also lets the reader in on the part of the story where they each realize that what is between them is real, and it is not going anywhere, and that neither of them want it to. This book is about people. People who let the things in their lives change who they are, how they react; and the realization that those changes, while honest at the time, may not be permanent and may not lead them to make a permanent change. Life, and it's lessons, are sometimes guidelines and sometimes the lessons are there to put you on a new path entirely. And, figuring out which you are faced with can sometimes take a while. Georgina and Sebastian, in different ways, have things that have happened in their past that are holding them back, that changes them and how they react. That alter who they are, how they trust, and where they are willing to go. But, are these changes the permanent kind or the type that give you guidance for the next phase of your life? What if, as you live, a change that seemed permanent turns out to be one that you needed to work through, and then let go? Sometimes, a life lesson exists to wake you up, to show you a different path, and to then be let go once you have taken a different path...because, as you travel down that path, you realize that the lesson you learned in one situation becomes nuanced in others. Kindness becomes compassion, being willing to give of yourself to those you love becomes love. Your big heart, the one that is so easily broken is where you find home with someone who sees the love you have to give. This. This is what this book is about. Yes, you have the romance, you have the characters you adore, the hot sexy scenes...but you also have the kind of book that sneaks up on you and makes you cry and then leaves you as happy as 2 dogs, cheerfully sunning themselves on the

Sebastian - Liked him right away, right off the top. There's this sweet sexy approachable feel to him. He is the type of person anyone would love to meet and have as part of ones life whether it be as a friend or lover (Lover would probly be the better option *swoon*) Georgina - I liked her and I was proud of her. At the same time I was sad for her and mad for her past. Being the beautiful selfless person she is she should NEVER feel the insecurities she did based on someone else's ignorance. This book had me thinking of some personal choices/mistakes. Made me feel that I could be a better person overall. We should all strive for this. My heart kept twitching. My chest felt full and the fluttered feeling in my stomach was constant. QUOTE ~ “Since I met you, I’ve been feeling more like myself than I have in a while.... “I am myself. But what about you? Do I make you better?” He paused. “Can you see yourself with me?” ~ I smiled, laughed and thoroughly enjoyed Sebastian and Georgina. Their world had beautiful and fun characters right down to the pets. AMAZING!!

There was simply so much to love about this book. The plot is fun and well written, the characters are likable, the chemistry steamy and the emotions deep and powerful. This workplace romance offers a love/hate relationship with plenty of sparks and steam. Georgina and Sebastian were both complex characters and were exceptionally relatable. Both had painful baggage from their respective pasts that continued to play a huge part in their now. There is drama, humor and heat. The cast of secondary characters is wonderful and adds so much to this book. The emotions in this book are what really makes it stand out. With a clever blend of desire and resistance, sweet romance and steamy passion, self-doubt and strength, laughter and tears and grief and hope, this is a book that will easily capture your heart. A terrific read!!

Jessica Hawkins has truly outdone herself with her latest novel Right Where I Want You. It's light, refreshing and purely delightful. Lovable characters forced to work together sets the stage for the perfect office love hate rom-com. Laugh out loud moments mixed with touching honesty make for the perfect blend. I especially enjoy Jessica Hawkins underlying messages and values mixed in her writing. Standing up for what you believe in, not making apologies for who you are, and above all know your self worth. There is so much to take away from this authors writing. I appreciate her honesty and responsibility to her audience. I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us in 2019!

This book wasn’t quite what I expected. I love Jessica Hawkins’s books - the angst, the feels. This book had that, but it also had laughs. Seriously, I laughed so much in this book. The banter between Sebastian and Georgina was fantastic, and the side characters were so great. There was definitely an immediate connection between these two. They butted heads and got on each other’s nerves. Georgina’s fiery attitude and Sebastian’s stubbornness made for many interesting interactions. Both characters needed time to find themselves, and each showed both sides of themselves to each other, which only ended up making their journey more difficult to negotiate. While it was difficult to love either Sebastian or Georgiana at the very beginning of the story, once the reasoning for their behaviors came out, my heart was aching for the both of them. I loved these two together. I loved their chemistry and their banter. I loved the men of Modern Men, Luciano, Bruno and Opal. This was an HEA I was so happy for, and I was sad to see the story end.

I discovered Jessica Hawkins after a friend recommended her. I then proceeded to binge read all of her books that had been released while eagerly awaiting new titles. The minute I saw the blurb for this book I had grabby hands. An office frenemies to lovers? Bring it. Now, I need to say that I'm not a huge fan of angst. However, when this Author writes I can't devour it fast enough. It just flows and works and I can't resist it. This title had a smidgen of angst here there were also moments that just made me smile and sigh, giving me just the right balance that I needed. Georgina and Sebastian meet in a way that had me smiling, face palming and finally cringing a bit. That carried over into their next meet, with a dash of laughter tossed in. But right from the start I liked these two, I felt they were genuine and real. I was interested to see their story play out. I can completely, 100% relate to Georgina. I think a lot of women will be able to say the same. She's a mix of strong and vulnerable, and you can't help but root her on. I wanted to slap her ex, but in reality, he helped make her who she became so I should thank him. Sebastian? Hello, hot book boyfriend. This man. I fell hard for him, even when he was being a jerk. I could sympathize for him and wanted to hug him (yes, I wanted to slap him at other times but nobody is perfect-not even a book boyfriend). I think he was strong and sexy, and I love his determination. There is no denying that there's a connection between these two. Watching them explore that thin line of love and hate, watching them fall? It was a gift to read. I loved being with them every step of this journey. This book flowed so very well. I couldn't stop reading once I started. I loved this Author's take on enemies to lovers in the work place. I also LOVED the supporting characters and wouldn't mind seeing some of them get to tell their own story. I loved this book and absolutely recommend it.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to characterize this story. It definitely has an enemies to lovers theme in the beginning. But, the story itself is kind of unique. A men's magazine company brings in a woman to fix them. In a time when women are still struggling to be equal, the timing of this book is perfect. Georgina is just like any of us. She rules at what she does, yet she has that little voice that tells her that she is not enough. She resigns herself to find all of her value in her work and spending her downtime with her dog, some ice cream and TV. Until she meets Sebastian, who happens to be the #1 guy at Modern Man who doesn't think he needs any of her help. So, you can imagine the tension and drama that ensues. And while these two characters are captivating, the secondary characters add so much laughter and tenderness. All around, this story will keep you glued to the pages and leave your heart warm. And you get to experience one of the best dates ever!

This is my favorite type of romance book! When an absolute stud gets brought down to his knees by a woman, it's perfection. Sebastian is the NYC badboy du jour. Hot as sin and BDE through the roof. Georgina was the perfect woman for him. Beautiful, but not your typical runway-type beauty. Definitely not the type who Sebastian is usually photographed with. When happenstance links them together, their pull and tug is written so spectacularly. It's not insta love. It's definitely not easy. But it's a beautiful mixture of chemistry, lust, humor, drama, angst, and heartbreak. The supporting characters are brilliant and the world that Jessica Hawkins creates makes me want to move to NYC immediately. I highly recommend that you read this book!

Oh this book, where do I begin?! I loved it. Georgina and Sebastian compliment each other nicely but before they get to a place of more than friends, heck more than coworkers, they go through growing pains. I laughed out loud a few times. I love Justin as well, he’s a perfect friend and I hope he gets his own book!
