A perfect read for people who don't have their brains awash in dogmatic garbage. Morrow articulates a simple idea through brilliantly developed and heartfelt characters: the world is completely insane due to rampant self-interest. It's a thought provoker without being preachy, and it's downright sexy! Best of all, unlike many others in the same vein, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. You may want to keep reading to the end, but I would suggest pausing occasionally to let the ideas presented seep in. Well done!

Ringing True harkens the arrival of a great new talent, Robert Morrow. I've avoided recent "literature" as it comes off as either to self-important and ponderous or writers try too hard to be 'frenetic and exciting' (I'm looking at you, Palahniuk and all your followers). Morrow navigates some heavy and expansive terrain with surprising and convincing celerity. He never uses his characters as mere mouthpieces of his own philosophical conceits and builds a funny yet realistic arc of how a new corporate 'religion' might quickly rise and fall in this day and age. The book flies by as fast as the modern cultural fads he criticizes and satirizes. Characters develop, but not at the expense of pacing, and the story develops quickly but not at the expense of characters. At times he is reminiscent of a focused Heller and his sarcastic sense of humor is ever-present but never overpowering. It's rare that any author is able to achieve such an uncanny sense of balance; a heady and complex philosophical powderkeg of a story spun as nimbly as a pulp novel with enough humor to keep the reader laughing but without making it a work of absurdity, a work that understands and addresses both the power of the intellect as well as primal human urges, and a work that neither sacrifices neither story nor character in its rapid pacing and development. Fantastic all around!!

Ringing True is a must read for anyone who has ever felt disillusioned with "the system" or who has ever said to themselves that there must be a better solution. I found Ringing True to be an extremely captivating story that is fun to read. The characters are fresh and complex and the story is relevant, sexy and funny. This book will engage, entertain and inspire you to pause and think. I'd love to see the movie!
