The river brought a handsome stranger to her. Would the river also take him away?

From her Alabama mansion on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, Lily watches the steamboats pass and dreams of falling in love with the perfect man, giving him her whole mind and spirit. But when the river gives her an irresistible steamboat captain, Lily is torn between him and her pledge to marry the wealthy man her parents have chosen for her.

Torn by her love for the mysterious captain, she struggles with duty, honor and faith. Like the river's dangerous currents, her choice will change the course of her life forever.

THE RIVER BETWEEN by Jacquelyn Cook is an Inspirational Historical Romance set in 1858 Eufaula, Alabama. It is the first in the four book The River Series. It is an updated editon of the anthology titled Magnolias. It is well written with depth and detail. It has romance, family, true love, christian values, and faith. It is set in the pre-civil war era. It is a wonderful sweet story about growing up with Christian values, honoring your parents and becoming true to yourself, believing in your faith. The characters are charming, easy to give your heart too their plight. The hero is honorable and has true Christian faith. The heroine is also honorable with Christian faith and tries to abide by her parents wishes, but realizes she should follow her heart and God's plan for her life. This is a wonderful, delightful story. It is fast paced with twists and turns and a page turner. It is a quick read. I would recommend this story if you enjoy a really sweet romance with a happy ending. This book was received for review and details can be found at Belle Books and My Book Addiction and More.
