Being an Account of How Two Prisoners of War at Yozgad in Turkey Won Their Way to Freedom. Between February 1917 and October 1918 Jones and Lt C W Hill, an Australian officer in the RFC (later RAF), convinced their Turkish captors that they were mediums adept at the Ouija board. Taking advantage of the Turkish camp Commandant's greed with promises of buried treasure to be found via the Ouija board, the two men engineered their escape, eventually cconvincing their gaolers to repatriate them by feigning insanity. They finally arrived home only a few months before the Armistice. Jones's book detailing their epic story was first published in 1919, illustrated with Hill's photographs, and is reprinted from the third edition of 1920.
