Overview

Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Ascendancy (Bourne Series #12) by Eric Van Lustbader

Jason Bourne is one of the most popular and compelling characters in contemporary fiction. Originally created by bestselling author Robert Ludlum, the Jason Bourne series was later adapted into films that have become modern classics. Now, New York Times bestselling writer Eric Van Lustbader carries on Jason Bourne's story with a new novel about the rogue secret agent who has lost his memory . . .

THE BOURNE ASCENDANCY

In this thrilling and absorbing new novel Jason Bourne is faced with an impossible mission. He has been hired to impersonate a high-level government minister at a political summit meeting in Qatar, shielding the minister from any assassination attempts. Suddenly, armed gunmen storm the room, killing everyone but Bourne. Their target, however, isn't the minister Bourne impersonates....it is Bourne himself.

Kidnapped and transported to an underground bunker, Bourne finds himself face-to-face with an infamous terrorist named El Ghadan ("Tomorrow"). El Ghadan holds as his captive Soraya Moore, former co-director of Treadstone, and a close friend to Bourne, along with her two year old daughter.

Meanwhile, the President of the United States is in the midst of brokering a historic peace treaty between the Israelis and the Palestinians-an event that El Ghadan is desperate to prevent. He demands that Bourne carry out a special mission: kill the President. If Bourne refuses, Soraya and her daughter will die.

Bourne must make a monstrous choice: save Soraya and her daughter, or save the President.

A page turning masterpiece of the first order.

Eric Van Lustbader continues to maintain the Bourne character and write excellent stories with great characters and twisted moving plot lines. I enjoy these stories. Thanks.

Even though Ludlum is no longer with us, his "ghost" writers do an excellent job. I can't remember any other Bourne books where there's a girl involved in a sex angle like in this book. The book is ok, I give it a 7, but remember all Ludlum's book sell, regardless who the ghost wrier is, Same with Paterson, if he's not writing about Alex Cross there's a ghost writer. Yankee Tony

I wish I felt differently, but I was disappointed in this book. I think we're at a point where Van Lustbader has deviated far enough away from the Ludlum style and approach to these books that the Ludlum name should be dropped from the cover. The character development and plotline is far below the standards set by the first few books of the Bourne series. Its a cheap imitation of what I'd expected.

Another winner for EVL. He is indeed a master of international thrillers, Robert Ludlum would have been proud of him. A difficult book to put down, it kept up countless nights.

This book is unlike the others in the series. No vehicle chase. Read and you find out what I alluded to. Only necessity will force you to put the book down. This is Ludlum's triumph! RB Marco Island, FL

Thrilling, contemporary theme! This is Jason Bourne at his best. There are many different scenarios going at the same time that seem not to be connected. It is all pulled together in the end. I enjoyed this book and found it hare to put down. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys adventure and espionage. This was a B&N serial read in October 2016

This was a serial read on Nook. It was what I was expecting of Bourne. Lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. Lots of suspense.

Jo-Jo's Bible Adventure Vol. 1 is a captivating children's book featuring well known bible stories. Family reading at its best. Money well spent. A no- regret purchase and bible journey. I've bought several for Christmas giving. Congrats to authors Pastor Joshua T. Scott and Veronique Broussard.
