Favorite Quotes: “Vassago was a fallen angel, Joe, but one with a good heart. He’s the discoverer of the lost and hidden.” “The thing I thought of the most, when I looked at that memorial plaque on the bench, was the dash. That little line between the date Joe was born and the date he died. That dash resembled his whole life, his achievements and his family. That dash was more important than the dates themselves.” My Review: Robert is an essential prequel to the Fallen Angel series, and as tragic as his story was, it answered many questions and filled in many blanks to allow better comprehension of his inconsistent and odd reactions in the previous books. I found it quite interesting that his blood relatives and the religious people in Robert’s life were cruel, abusive, and vicious to him, while the mafia kingpin was the one to take him into his family, provide him with training and opportunities far beyond his basic needs as well as respect, loyalty, and acceptance.
