This book gets so much hype on more popularly reviewed websites (amazon, etc.). So I bought it along with a different graphic novel in the same vein ("Okko" by Hub - check it out, i like it WAY better). I thought this book would blow the pants off the other based off the reviews. But i have to say i was extremely underwhelmed. The artwork was just okay - i didn't care much for the character design and i think the best artwork was to be seen on the cover. The story was simple and disjointed. And the thing that annoyed me the most was the vertically oriented text! I don't know if the author was trying to make it more "asian" by having english letters oriented vertically, but all it did for me was make it a pain in the @$$ to read. Maybe this graphic novel was great when it first came out and there were no others to compare it to, but in the modern world of graphic novels, there are better options.
