Thanks to the author I was allowed to read a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review. Have you ever read a book that really surprised you? This book was one of those. You see a book about a rock star and expect attitude, sex, etc. There was a little bit of attitude but for the most part, this is a sweet love story about a rock star that finds his soul mate unexpectedly. He hasn't had much love in his life so he isn't sure of his feelings and certainly isn't sure how to express them. This is also a story of a young lady that has had hard luck in the love department. Her one relationship ended in a most unusual way and left her heartbroken. Needless to say, she is hesitant to give her heart away again. The problem is that her sexy rock star doesn't wait for her to give her heart, he jumps in and takes it. As the story progresses, we get to see the growth in these two characters as they both realize what they want out of life. Throw in a little suspense and intrigue towards the end of the story and you have a great book. I will definitely be reading more of this author in the future.

I’m a sucker for a good rocker storyline. I think most women find them mysterious and alluring. And the rocker in this book does not disappoint. But in my opinion, the heroine could use a bit more work. Josh is a hard-partying rocker. Women, drugs, alcohol…he leads the ultimate rock-n-roll lifestyle as the lead singer of the band “Money Back Guarantee”. When he meets Cassie one night in Las Vegas, the chemistry between them in instant and unforgettable. However, Cassie is not the classic rock-n-roll girl, and Josh ends up going back to his hotel alone. Neither can forget their meeting. No woman has ever had this effect on Josh and he’s determined to show Cassie that he can be the man that she wants him to be, worthy of her love and affection. Will he succeed in not only changing his ways, but also helping Cassie to unlock her heart? I thought that the best part of this book was Josh. He’s sexy and once he sets his mind on something, he’s quite committed. I liked that about him. He’s also really sweet and the ways in which he tries to win Cassie’s heart are endearing. Swoon worthy stuff here, people! What I didn’t like about this book was Cassie. I have to say that I didn’t feel connected with her nor did I really understand her motivations to go to such great lengths to protect herself. To me, she just seemed like a very overdone character; the troubled woman that a man can’t help but fall in love with and fix. Been there, done that. I did like the way this book was written, though. It had alternating points of view between Cassie and Josh, and I always find that a pleasant way to present a story when it is done well. It is done well here. I’m interested to read the rest of these books in the series, which apparently can be read as a standalone. For sweetness factor alone, I give this book 3.5 stars. *Copy provided for review* Reviewed by Sara for Crystal’s Many Reviewers

ROCK ME, GENTLY is the latest release in M.J. Schiller's contemporary, adult, romance series about the bad boys of rock and roll. Every story is a stand alone and not interconnected. This is Josh Dunningham-front man for the rock group Money Back Guaranteed and advertising executive Cassie McCallister's storyline. Told from alternating close third person POV the premise follows the building relationship between Josh and Cassie, and the eventual discovery that someone is targeting Cassie for destruction. Josh and Cassie first met in Las Vegas where Cassie and her friend were in town for a little R&R. Josh is a bit of a man-whore and Cassie was his next intended conquest but Cassie ran before anything could happen. Josh could not get Cassie out of his mind and sets into motion a plan to make Cassie his own. Josh is the epitome of a rock and roll god-alcohol, drugs and women but something about Cassie pulls at Josh and he intends to discover the who and what of Cassie McCallister. As one band mate considers retirement another considers revenge and uses everything and everyone to get what he wants. Money Back Guaranteed, for all of their success, is a band on the verge of falling apart. Cassie and Josh's relationship is tumultuous in the beginning. Cassie has a difficult time trusting anyone with her heart and Josh has a past that considers Cassie expendable and that past sees Cassie as standing in the way. When threatening letters turn to physical violence, Cassie's safety is compromised by the lifestyle of the man who has stolen her heart. MJ Schiller pulls the reader into a fast paced, emotional and sometimes humorous storyline of one couple's journey towards a happily ever after. The secondary characters including friends, family and wanna be's are colorful, dangerous, and drive a portion of the premise. We get a revealing look at both Josh and Cassie's background: from emotional childhood drama to their adult successes and failures. No one's past is without a few skeletons in the closet.

M.J. Schiller knocks it out of the park with her latest edition to the Rocking Romance Series. Rock Me, Gently is a sweet romantic story with likable, well-developed characters and delicious chemistry between the two leads. The story starts in Vegas, where rock star Josh Dunningham meets the innocent Cassie McCallister who sends him reeling with just a look. Josh is a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy and admittedly enjoys the sexual benefits of being a rock star. Cassie has had her heart-broken in the past and consider herself damaged goods. Both are vulnerable and searching for love, which becomes clear as soon as they meet. There is so much to like about this book. Schiller has a knack for detail, using her words to effortlessly lead the reader right where she wants them. Her descriptions of everything, from the Josh’s reaction upon laying eyes on Cassie to his perception of her as a hummingbird, darting from one thing to another or just the simple color of the light pouring out from the kitchen windows is almost poetic in its delivery. Both Cassie and Josh have a past that leaves both hesitant to trust the growing passion and affection between them. Despite their desire to protect themselves from heartbreak and commitment, they find themselves falling in love while battling their demons to find their happily ever after. The chemistry between the two is off the charts and in this day and age when so many authors are going for the “in your face, TMI” approach to loves scenes, Schiller takes the reader through scenes of sensuality where a subtle caress or an inexperienced but seductive removal of clothing leaves the reader breathless. The secondary characters of Rock Me, Gently are fairly typical, but likable nonetheless. In addition to falling in love, Josh and Cassie also find themselves embroiled in a plot designed to break them up that takes a dangerous turn, but one that, in the end, only brings them closer. And, in the midst of love and suspense, there’s an understated story of the importance of family, whether it be biological or chosen. If there was one negative that I could point to, it would be the lack of background that led to Josh becoming a rock star. There’s not much passion in Josh’s approach to music other than a song that he writes midway through the book about Cassie, leaving the rock and roll plot to fall flat. Regardless, I’d recommend Rock Me, Gently to anyone who enjoys a good romance. *I received this book in exchange for an honest review*

Rock stars are real people, just like the rest of us. The rock star is this book is amazing, with all his ups and downs. He is a real person (a real fictional person at least). Both Josh and Cassie are so real that they are easy to relate to. Everyone has previous heartbreaks that can make you hesitant. Both characters are very well written, we slowly learn about them as they learn about each other. You are there with them through it all. You laugh with them and cry with them. Maybe not all rock stars are real. I hope there aren’t any like Lanny. From the very beginning, I did not like him (more like hated him). The way he treats women makes me just want to throw something at him again and again. But he makes the perfect bad guy, dark and evil (silently sitting in a corner). The characters are great, the story is great, and the romance is sweet and sexy. The plot twists are intruding. The villains are nasty. If you like rock stars, romance or stalkers, you will love this book! 4.5 STARS

M.J. has a special talent in bringing out the human traits in her characters. So many of us see the rich and famous as posing, elaborate, eccentric people who live out of touch in the world. I suppose they put on their pants one leg at a time, just like we do. And M.J. brings that out. She also doesn't hold back. The antagonist in this book is the evil of evils. He is not for the faint of heart. When rock star, Josh, finds Cassie, he finds his home ... what he's been looking for without knowing he was looking. As usual, M.J. used her magical way of making this love story home-grown real. Way to go, M.J.! Kudos!

This Rocker Rocked My World Review by: Red's Hot Reads 5 Stars!!!!! Josh Dunningham is a HOT Rocker. I loved this book. I am a huge M.J. Schiller fan. As with all her other books I love her men and Josh is just another fine example of a beautiful character she writes. I read this book in one setting. Josh and Cassie meet in Vegas and have the beginnings of a steamy night. Cassie gets jumpy and leaves Josh before they can get to the good stuff. Josh cannot quit thinking about her and Cassie is just as taken with Josh. Cassie has past relationship issues and is reluctant to all of Josh’s advances. Josh has commitment issues because of his childhood. Finally they get a good thing going. Josh is so sweet! When he wants something he knows how to swoon a girl. I loved the whole basketball game scene. Cassie is somewhat innocent but has a fiery personality. They compliment each other nicely. I love M.J.’s writing she does not waste time with her characters they get straight into their relationship and we get to see more of the building of the relationship instead of a bunch of angst that drives me crazy sometimes. This book filled me with joy and had me laughing out loud several times. Josh and Cassie share funny banter amongst each other. I felt their love and felt as though I was right there with them. This is a sweet love story that is filled with just the right amount of steaminess in the love scenes. Of course we must not forget that M.J. throws a mystery in her story as well and this mystery did not disappoint at all. I was sitting on the edge of my seat while everything unfolded. All the books in this collection are stand-alones. I have read the entire Rocking Romance Collection and I have loved each book. Rock Me, Gently will not disappoint you for a sweet love story. M.j. Schiller is one of my favorite authors. This will definitely not be my last book by her. Quotes: “I’m not very good at showing I care. I’ve never wanted to before. I’ve never needed to before.” – Josh He bent slowly in and kissed her; not the fast, fiery kisses that usually ignited between them, but deep, tender kisses. He released his heart with each one, squeezing her in his arms. She laid her head down on his chest again and swayed together, holding on like a lifeboat in a storm. “You are not just another girl to me, Cassie McCallister.” – Josh “My gosh, Cassie. You are so beautiful, you take my breath away.” Her eyes searched his as if the answers to the Universe lay there. “ I think I’m falling in love with you.” – Josh
