Rock Me Hard (The Rock Star's Seduction Part 1) by Olivia Thorne

The newest release from Olivia Thorne, author of the Billionaire’s Seduction series!

Kaitlyn Reynolds is a year out of college and fighting to become a journalist when she gets the biggest break of her young life: the shot at a cover story in Rolling Stone magazine.

But there’s a catch.

She’ll be covering the hottest bad-boy in rock, Derek Kane, whom Kaitlyn met when she was a freshman in college and he was a struggling unknown. It was passionate two-week affair: tumultuous, sensual, exhilarating…

…and it ended very, very badly.
Now Kaitlyn has to decide whether she can face the pain of the past, her fear of the future – and the man who might just have been the One.

Rock Me Hard (The Rock Star’s Seduction Part 1) is the first novel in a series of four. It is 57,000 words in length. Due to frank scenes of sensuality and profanity, it is intended for Mature Audiences only.

I was so excited when I got the 1st book and it had 400 pages, and come to find out it you have to buy the next book about 200 pages in because the rest was a totally different book. I'm one of those people who has to finish a book no matter how awful...So, the writer drug this story out to 3 books and it could has easily been finished in 1 book. It was so back and forth to the point of whiny and annoying. I will NOT buy from this author again.

This story line lacks any structure. The plot and the characters are all over the place and the dialogue between the characters is rather childish and scattered. I give up on this Part 1, sure glad I didn't waste time and money on the other parts of this yawner.

The story itself was a good one. I liked the chemistry between the main characters. The big downfall for me was the big cliffhanger ending. Not only do you have to read a second book, theres a third book that you need to read to finish the story. I absolutely hate when authors do this. Wont be reading them, thats for sure. Id like to boycott authors that do this.

This is the first book of a trilogy. So you're going to need to read the others to get the entire story. If you're expecting boy meets girl, they fall in love, and then ride happily ever after into the sunset, this isn't the series for you. It's gritty, sometimes dark, sometimes wonderful, sometimes painful. The final book has a twist I wasn't expecting, but it did fit with these characters. All you ether worth my time.

I like the story idea and the characters are interesting. I think the plor could have been flushed out more. What i dont apperciate is the story ending in the middle. It was not a whole book with a difinitive ending like series do.. it was oh. Spend more money to finish the story ploy, which I do not appreciate.

Alot of the rock band romances are just romances. This one actually has the feel of being with a band.starting with when there not famous to when they are.you see thd interaction with the band mates and see how they change as people. The romance part is awesome but is more like if you were in a relationship with a famous singer. Not the boy next doir type. I loved the characters. I eish the series was longer. I would love for her to write more in this genre. One if my favorites in this genre.

The first book was good. Kaitlyn was a strong character, determined to reach her goal so she leaves Derrik behind. This book opens with Kaitlyn being given the chance of a life time interviewing Derrick's successful band. Most of her decisions were based on becoming a successful journalist so she takes the job and goes on tour with the band. She spends weeks on tour never writing one single thing. She becomes nothing more than a glorified groupie. She not only becomes involved with Derrick's childhood but moves in with him knowing the band practices there and that Derrick will have to face that when he leaves rehab. The tension is high and the band almost breaks up and still she stays which antagonizes the situation. The ending is ridiculous. No self respecting man would agree to the terms that she offers both men. Their characters were never portrayed as weak and desperate but yet that is what they are in the end. So disappointing. I kept reading hoping to see the strong and independant woman from the first book but she never appeared.

Kaitlyn Reynolds is a year out of college and fighting to become a journalist until she gets the chance of a lifetime. Interview Derek Kane and his band for the Rolling Stone and a chance at the cover spot. One problem...She and Derek Kane have history; sexy, rocky, intense history. It ended in the worst way, bad very bad. Kaitlyn must decide if she can face Derek or give up her dream of a journalist. I loved this. I discovered this on a whim and so glad I did. The relationship between Derek and Kaitlyn was rocky and intense and sexy, most definitely addictive. This is a trilogy and only 57,000 words but I think totally worth it. So just to be warned its a short novel part of a trilogy but I loved every word.

This series is fun and keeps you guessing! I read all books within a week. The ending of book three was surprising for me. I wish there was more to show which guy she ends with, because it doesn't seem right. But it was fun to read. I give it a 4/5 because of the ending and the lack of band mates involvement in book three. For the record, I would of choosed the one who I had a future with or niether! ;)
