I was born in Egypt and raised in New York. My family was very much into cooking. There was so much preparation for all of our meals. I used to help my mother prepare those dishes by cleaning and chopping the many veggies. Garlic was plentiful in most dishes. Whenever we went over my grandmother's house to eat, I was amazed at her meals. That is how I became interested in cooking. The exposure to all this cuisine surely gave me the ability to pursue the culinery art field and become very good at it. I experimented with many new recipes from many cultures. My love of baking gave me the resources to make some of my recipes low in fat and sugar. I admit, I myself fell for my whoopie pies. I just could not resist! I decided "What a great souvenir to share this book with my family, friends and the world."
