I was hoping for for stories about the New Orleans and Mud bug group and found this. I'm looking into works by both authors now.

Rose and Helena Save Christmas is a wonderful mashup of two great series by two amazing authors. Prior to reading this book, I only had read Denise Grover Swank’s Rose Gardner series so I was clueless about Helena but I was able to read this book without being confused or feeling left in the dark. I love how the book flowed together and made it seem as if it were written by one person instead of two stories fighting with each other. Both sides complimented each other beautifully and it turned out to be a fantastic book.

This is a cross-over book with Rose Gardner and Helena from the Ghost-in-Law series. I loved it. In fact, I loved it so much, I read the Ghost-in-Law series after I finished this book. Rose and Neely Kate get into trouble in New Orleans, but again, it is more a wrong place wrong time situation. The ending was especially touching when Rose and Neely Kate return home for Christmas and Mason gives Rose a beautifully thoughtful gift, which demonstrates the depth of his love for Rose.

When you have two outstanding authors combining some of their best characters into one book, you know it is going to be epic! When Rose and Neely Kate visit to New Orleans, they get a lot more than either bargained for with Taylor and Helena. I have read other duel author/crossover books and they can either be really good or a real train wreck. Denise and Jana really made this story come alive and be believable. I could see that these four ladies existing in the same time and place. One character was not sacrificed for another in the writing. Rose, Neely Kate, Taylor and Helena all had their moments to shine and contribute. I loved Neely Kate and Helena together, like two kindred souls. I also enjoyed having a story where Rose was not the central character. It was enjoyable to see her interact with others and to see it from POVs other than her own. An amazing story from two amazing authors.

If someone were to ask what my all time favorite series is, I'd have a hard time picking just one. However the Rose Gardner series is one I'd mention because it is awesome. Rose gets into shenanigans, sometimes through no fault of her own, and has a devil of a time trying to get out if it. There is suspense, drama, action, humor, and love. The characters are great and the writing is superb. I have not read anything by Jana DeLeon except this but that's about to change. The eccentric ghost Helena is a hoot and I'd like to read more about her hoodlumery. These two characters mesh well together and I could envision lots of scenarios where they end up having to help each other out.
