This series was AMAZING! There was a glitch in Barnes and Nobles system that was quickly fixed to include all books in the boxset, which I was so happy about. I couldnt put them down! Excellent author, excellent books! I cant wait for June 26th for the next book to come out! eeeekkkk!

Nook "Box set" includes only the first 2 books, not 4 as advertised.

Disclaimer - I am a male cozy mystery fan. I got this series for free with a certificate. This review is only for the first nook in the set. It is really more a 'coming into her own' novel with a mystery. The writer does a good job of conveying a 24 year old woman with all the angst and contradictory feelings you'd expect this character to have in her circumstances, but that said, I found her annoying, although her target audience might not. The book is at times fun and funny as you join Rose on her her ride into adulthood and independence. I would have preferred a bit more of the mystery in this story, and more details of some of Rose's new experiences and her feelings as she experiences them, but the writer may be well serving a market that I don't belong to, so I temper my remarks. Admittedly, I can see myself reading the remainder of the series to see how Rose develops.

This is a great introductory set to the life and times of Rose Gardner. I found myself rooting for Rose half way through the first book and unable to wait to see what mess she'd find herself knee deep in during the next two. These books are very well written and have enjoyable plots and characters.

This is a great introduction to the Rose Gardener mystery series and a great value. Although there is mystery, what I love most about the series is the character development, especially Rose, who is discovering both her past and herself while striving to overcome her abusive conservative Southern mother who withheld love, an overprotective sister, and being cursed with occassional foresight where she blurts out odd comments to total strangers. The interactions, family relationships, and development based on gradually revealed motivations make these characters so much more interesting than a standard mystery romance, and both the mystery and romantic relationships between the two novels have enough plot twists and turns to make this a fun read. I'm making my own lists, and adding these to my favorites. :-)

Rose's antics are very entertaining. The ordeals of her childhood and her ability to overcome them were inspiring. An overall enjoyable series.

Crappy Doodles! I was highly disappointed in this series. Silly, unbelievable and very juvenile.

Good characters that make anyone who has lived in a small town feel like part of the story !

I discovered the Rose Gardner Mystery series through this box set. I believe that box sets are one of the best ways to get into a series. I was instantly hooked with the first book - 28 ½ Wishes and to have 29 ½ Reasons, 30 ½ Excuses and the novella Falling to Pieces all together is a book lovers dream come true. I love this series and main character, Rose Gardner. In the books 1 – 3.5, you see Rose grow from shy and naïve girl into a strong and loving woman. The supporting characters are plentiful and each have their quirks and places in the stories. If you are looking for fun and heartwarming stories with mystery and charm, this box set is for you.

Just read the entire series this week between work and naps. Now I'm all caught up and anxiously awaiting the series finale in March. To Ms. Grover, I'm thankful we are not losing Rose and Neely-Kate anytime soon, those gals have some stories left in them! Hopefully Violet gets what's owed her for jealously slandering while holding Rose back.

My all time favorite series!! I can't get enough of Rose!!! This series will draw you in from book one and keep you turning the page until your caught up with the series. Then you will be in withdrawal waiting for the next book to be released. The series is humorous, heartwarming and emotional. Denise is an excellent writer and has a way of have making the characters real to you. You will obsess over this series, trust me I know from experience. I highly recommend her books to everyone. Make sure you start with book one in the series "Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes".

I got the first book for free and really enjoyed the story. Intriguing storyline. It was pretty clean with minimal swearing. So I got the box set. As the story goes on, there's more and more sex scenes. Rather disappointing. It seems to me that the main character transformed a bit too fast for reality.

The first book started out alright but it did not hold my attention. Probably 1/3 to 1/2 way into the book I stopped trying to make anymore sense of anything.

I'm on the second book in the series, and am really enjoying the series. Good mystery, and interesting characters.

For a sister does not live happly ever after e g especially with the sister who acts like the mother but is abusive and manipulative. Also after the first run in any time statements are needed by police she should have her lawyer there. Any more harassment she should start carrying a taoe recorder with her.

The Rose Gardner character is absolutely loveable. She is a gentle, mild-mannered young woman who discovers she can be a forceful, decisive adult. This series is well written and moves the story right along, keeping suspense high. Having never read any of Denise Grover Swank's novels before this purchase, I was very pleasantly surprised and look forward to reading more of this author's books.

These books are so good that they are hard to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed them.

I enjoyed most of the books. The story lines and characters were interesting. The authors segues into dream mode was totally without any meaning to the books. I would say to leave that out of future books. Also, one other item that gave me a chuckle, is trying to find out how one gets hit on the left right side of the face. This was in the fourth book. Keep writing, as you certainly have a talent for it and I will continue to read your books.
