Rowen and the King by Michael N. Woolley

"Rowen and the King" is the first of a four-part novelette series entitled, "Tales of the Danann: The Ancient Tales." The story tells of an island of all kinds of kinds of fairy creatures that have been conquered by invading humans. Queen Celeste, queen of the humans, attempts to establish peace between the two races by establishing a new kingdom with a new king born of both human and fairy-kind. However, this turns into disaster and she must rely on the expertise of Rowen, a former soldier who lives with the fairy-folk to help her fix her mistake before the island is destroyed entirely.

About the Author

Michael N. Woolley was born and raised in Utah. He found adventure in books and the imaginations of his older sister which he always enjoyed. He grew up in a "sandlot" style neighborhood; playing football, baseball, and basketball, and enjoying biking to the yogurt parlor and dollar theater on weekends.

At the age of twelve he was introduced to J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, who quickly became his favorite authors. Discovering his own imagination, Dee quickly persuaded his gang to create their own adventures through film.

After high school, Dee served an LDS mission in the Philippines where he began making small notes of ideas which would be the beginnings of his writing. When he returned from his mission he pursued his education at Brigham Young University Idaho where he majored in English Education, and minored in History. He now enjoys teaching the next generation to discover for themselves the love of reading, writing, imagination, and adventure.
