The leather chair squeaked as Ava Webber shifted in her seat.
She was both excited and nervous about this interview. It was also unlike any interview she'd ever experienced. Process and procedure ruled her life, maybe one reason why a few months ago she'd found it so easy to land a finance job in New York at Wayne Marketing Firm. Apply. Interview. Accept the job. All standard procedure.
Except this interview for membership in Serve was anything but standard. Why would it be? Serve was New York's most exclusive sex club.
Her nerves flickered with anticipation. Based on the paperwork she'd filled out and the orientation class she'd attended last week, this final meeting wasn't about crunching numbers, spreadsheets, or analysis. This was about sex. Pure and simple sex.
"This is just another part of the process," she mumbled as she looked around the office. The lighting was set like something from a castle corridor — soft and illuminating — and the massive mahogany desk in the middle of the room was surrounded by rich leather and wood furniture. All tasteful and masculine.
Despite the many steps it had taken her to wind up sitting and waiting for membership at Serve, nothing would now deter her from the path she'd chosen.
It was time.
Time she truly moved on. Time she admitted what she wanted. Time to go after it.
The moment her lungs filled with oxygen on a heavy inhale, the door opened and a tall, muscled man walked in, flipping through what looked to be her extensive questionnaire.
"Ava Webber?" he asked, eyes fused to the paper.
He kicked the door shut with his foot, flipped to another page, and frowned. He still hadn't looked up, which was a shame, because even in the low light, she could tell his eyes were not only the iciest blue she'd ever seen, they were intense. Power and strength radiated from him as he took his seat behind the desk. His big body settled into the chair, and his muscles flexed beneath the thin black T-shirt he wore. Her mouth watered. Just the way he moved was hypnotizing.
"There's a problem with your application," he said, and now he looked at her. But the sound of his voice and the finality in his tone made a rise of panic swell in her gut.
"What? No, that can't be. I read through the entire handbook, and I'm confident I meet every requirement."
His eyebrows furrowed. He leaned forward and placed his hands on the desk, which did crazy amazing things to those impressive biceps of his.
"You didn't fill out section three completely," he said, flipping to the page in question and sliding it in front of her. "For preference in a partner, you put male."
"Is that a problem?"
He tossed her a lethal grin, and she suddenly felt a little giddy. Whoever this man was, he knew how to work a room — likely a woman, too — and had a special kind of swagger that was gifted from God and well honed over the years. He glowed with confidence and an alpha intensity that matched the gleam of the laidback charm in his eyes.
"Male is a good start. Narrows the options down by half. But usually I'm given more to work with. Like body type, hair color, eye color — "
"I don't care about any of that." Her response seemed to take him off guard, but it was the truth. "All I care about is that it's anonymous sex."
He looked at her for a long moment. "That's a problem. Because see on section five? Sexual preferences, boundaries, hard limits, personal wants and desires?"
She nodded, looking at the section in question. "What's your point?"
"You put any."
"As am I. Which is why I'm concerned."
Ava took a deep breath. Hottie McSexyGrin was grilling her. He was the last step before she could participate in this club. She absently gripped her ring finger. Even with the discarded ring sitting in a drawer at home, she still felt its weight.
She couldn't lose this chance. She needed a place like Serve. Needed to feel alive again and needed this man to stop blocking her from the path she'd discovered. A path that would finally let her be free.
"I don't understand your concern." She tapped the paper. "I'm open to any experience, hence the word."
He raised an eyebrow. "Yes, I can read, sweetheart. But I'm not sure you understand all Serve has to offer. If you leave yourself open to anything, I can assure you, you just may get that."
"I see we finally understand each other."
He sat back in his chair and looked at her with amusement. "In the spirit of understanding each other, let's go through a list."
He shrugged. "Yeah, you seem to be open to anything, but I need to be clear on your desires, so we'll start with your pussy."
"Oh, I'm sorry, did I offend you? Or are you not sitting in the middle of a sex club and claiming to be open to anything?"
Great, not only was this guy sex on a stick, he was a smartass trying to call her bluff. Fine, she could play along.
"What is it you'd like to know?"
"Several things," he admitted, with a heat in his eyes that made her thighs tingle. "Do you like your pussy to be sucked? Fucked? Made love to?"
She held her posture as still as possible. "All of the above."
"And what about your man? Assuming I assign you one. What do you want to do to him?"
"Whatever he wants."
He tsked. "Oh sweetheart, that is the best and worst answer you could give."
"I don't see how me wanting to please the man you will assign me is a bad thing."
He grinned, obviously picking up on her determination that she wasn't leaving without what she'd come for.
"Not bad, just trying to keep your expectations in check. He may decide to fuck your mouth for a while before touching you otherwise."
"Sounds great." And it really did. There was something about sucking a man that really turned her on. Not that she was going to go into details about that to the guy baiting her from the other side of the desk.
He shook his head. "I don't think you know what you're asking for."
That's where he was wrong. She'd thought about this more than he could know, and she knew exactly what she was asking for. Time he understood she was confident in her choice.
"I want to touch him however he'll let me, and he can have me however he wants. I don't know how to be more clear than that. Unless you'd like to run through every single scenario?"
The sarcasm in her voice made his amusement fire into something a little more lusty. His shoulders stiffened. She was wearing him down, showing she could handle what she was asking for, and slinging him back a taste of his own medicine.
"Safety is my number one concern here," he said. "I don't want to set up a scene or situation for you that you'll walk away from feeling ..." There was a flicker of something sad in his eyes, but it passed quickly and he rasped the last word. "Traumatized."
She opened her mouth to speak, but he cut her off quickly. The air changed around him. The sexy comments they'd been tossing back and forth had turned into a serious matter.
"Details are important." He glanced at the questionnaire. "You're not giving me any. So the risk that you'll come out of a scene feeling worse rather than better is too high."
Shit! She was losing him. He was going to close the book on her and send her packing. It was clear he took his job seriously, and she respected that. Whatever uneasy hesitation had danced behind his eyes a moment ago made her wonder how many times he'd had this same interview. Did people really put down every single detail like hair color?
"What if I give you all the honest details I can?"
"That would make my life much easier," he said.
She nodded. "Okay. I went to the orientation class and know what Serve offers. You can sit there and ask me questions all day long, but I mean it when I say that I'm open to anything. I also mean it when I say that keeping the sex and any experience under this roof anonymous, including the man I'm with, is my number one hard limit. I don't want to see his face."
He leaned back and crossed his arms over his chest. "Go on."
"I didn't come here for an emotional connection. I came for sex. You set up these things, right? I was told you're the best at what you do. I trust you'll do that."
"Why?" he said quickly, his eyes boring into hers. "In all the years I've been doing this, I've never had less to go on. You want to be at Serve? Want anything? I have to know you're aware of all the rules and regulations and what you're asking for. I can't protect you otherwise. So tell me, Ava ..." The way he said her name made chills run up her spine and heat gather low in her stomach. "Why?"
It was the question she'd been avoiding for years. The question she'd asked herself over and over again while she'd been with Peter and he'd controlled every aspect of her life.
Why had she stayed as long as she did?
Why had she let him run her life, take over her spirit, and crush her entire sense of self?
Why had she let him leave her an empty shell after trying for years to please him?
The answer was one it had taken her a while to find: because she was young, trying to be the good wife, and hadn't known any better. She'd woken up and realized she'd never gotten a chance to know herself.
That was one thing she was set to rectify. She wasn't his wife anymore. And she wasn't interested in having any kind of relationship again. It gave the other person too much power.
Since she was eighteen, she'd known only Peter. He'd saved her from her small town, shitty life, and awful parents. In return, he'd controlled every aspect of her life, from how she'd dressed to her career prospects and her dreams. He'd never abused her physically, but the words he'd used had gotten harsher every day, until she'd had barely a shred of self-esteem left.
It had taken her six years to figure out he was slowly killing her soul. And another two years to divorce him and finally, finally move on.
No. she wouldn't do that again. Wouldn't trust or love or commit. She just wanted to live. To feel. To be free.
Serve was her saving grace. A chance to experience freedom, passion, and never ever have to risk anything more. No feelings. No emotion. No commitment.
No kind of relationship at all.
Just sex. Healthy, anonymous sex.
But first she had to get past the hulking, sexy interviewer. He wanted to know why? She took a deep breath and reached for the most honest answer she could.
"Every single day I live by rules, a structured schedule, and an outline. In here, I want to just feel. And I want to walk away when I'm done. That may not be a standard questionnaire desire, but it's my fantasy."
His blue eyes stayed on her, and goose bumps rolled along her arms. She sat, waiting for his verdict, and hoping to hell she hadn't just blown it.
* * *
Jesus Christ, Nolan Hart hadn't been this shocked since ... ever.
The woman sitting in front of him was maybe a buck twenty, with big green eyes, caramel hair, and a completely serious expression. Though she hadn't smiled, her lips were a perfect kind of plump, which made him think of all sorts of things he wanted to do to that mouth. A mouth that was challenging him and fighting for a place at Serve.
He'd thought she was naïve, tried calling her out and flicking her shit, and she'd matched his every remark with a straight-faced answer.
He had to hand it to her, she was different. But if there was one thing Nolan understood, it was rules. His whole job — his whole life — was built around them. He protected people, and he couldn't do that without full cooperation. It took only one instant for things to get out of hand, a scene to be taken too far, and a woman to be hurt. In his entire time at Serve, that had happened only once, but it had haunted him ever since.
Though it had happened years ago, he still thought about that woman's tears. About how he'd set her up with a Dom too rough for her.
He hadn't known it was too much for her, and even though the asshole got kicked out, it was still no excuse. No one got hurt on his watch. Serve was about pleasure, kink, and exploration. Above all, it was consensual.
Which was why Ava was going to be a problem. Because she was zeroing in on every kink he had ... which was right in line with what she wanted: everything.
"I'm not a vague man," he said for himself just as much as her. He glanced at the one word she'd scribbled on the questionnaire:
Yeah, this was a big fucking problem. She didn't know it, but she was tempting him in a way no one ever had before.
"So, what would you put on your questionnaire?" she asked.
Wasn't that a loaded question. Because if he were honest with himself, he'd put the same damn word she'd just used.
"This is about your wants and desires, sweetheart, not mine."
There was a hint of a smile and a soft blush. She was obviously strong and knew what she wanted, yet there was an air of innocence to her. Everything from her curious gaze to her body language sent him on alert to conquer, pleasure, and protect.
A couple of instincts he needed to get under control real fucking quick.
"I told you my fantasy. You haven't even told me your name."
"Nolan," he said, a little raspy.
Shit, the woman was getting to him. Because he didn't care about the outer details like body type — though he was starting to be partial to slightly petite with incredible features and long honey hair — but he was still tempted by the thought of his fantasy wrapped up in a tight little package of sexy curves.
"Nolan," she repeated.
That was all it took. He was a goner. The way she said his name made him want to hear her moan it, scream it, whisper it, all while she was on the brink of coming and shuddering like she couldn't take anymore.
Except it wouldn't be for him. It'd be for whoever he picked for her.
"Many men here have certain kinds of preferences," he tried again, hoping to get some more information on what the hell kind of partner he was supposed to find for her. "Some won't be gentle. Some like inflicting pain. Some like receiving it." He raised his eyebrow. "Some want to dominate."
"All of that's fine. Is there a man that can do all that, depending on his mood?"
He frowned. Was she fucking kidding? "A lot is possible. But the men around here are typically specific with their wants — something I'm trying to get from you."
"I want to be consumed. In any way he wants to take me. Because the minute I step out of the scene, it's over and back to the real world."
It suddenly hurt to breathe. That sounded right up his alley. She wanted to get lost, taken over, but not in the real world. There wasn't a man alive besides himself he'd trust not to abuse that privilege.
Then an idea struck him:
Why not me?
She wanted what he'd happily give her. In this short time, he'd already gotten a good sense for her. He could read her body, expressions, and cues.
He could take things in whatever direction the moment led. It was a dangerous notion, but he didn't trust anyone else to have her. He'd make sure she got what she wanted without someone going too far or hurting her.
And she was offering everything, with the only catch of not seeing the man she was with. That was her one hard limit, and he could give that to her. Because if there was one thing he understood, it was hard limits.
He'd spent years wrapped up in women, moving from each one to the next in a quest to feel ... anything. And every time, he found the threat of the future — unpredictable, unknowable — too powerful to ignore. How could he protect anyone longer than one scene at a time?
So he'd resigned himself to doing just that. No relationships. No chance for love. But at least he could guarantee the safety of each woman at Serve by assuring she was paired with the perfect partner.
But to have a woman put herself in his hands — literally. To trust her fate to him for more than a single scene. It sounded better than good, and it was the one thing he'd yearned for but seen no way to experience. Anyone who wanted him for more than a single scene wanted him for a relationship, and he couldn't have that.
He hadn't found "the one," and he never would. His friends were being taken down one after another with emotional monogamy, but it wasn't in the cards for him.

Ms. Ryan has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her books are always well written and steamy. And, this one is no exception. The chemistry and banter between the characters is amazing. The storyline is fresh and captivating. The BDSM is not overly graphic, which I prefer, and makes you wonder about your own limits. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for something fun and a little different. ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
For me, this was a fabulous addition to the Serve series, and I might have fallen a little in love with Nolan myself. I can't wait to see who will get a story next! All the authors involved have done fantastic jobs to date. 5 stars.
~Myth and Fantasy~ Joya Ryan has done it again in Rules of Seduction. This story is one that you can not put down. From page one you are addicted. Nolan and Ava's story is absolutely sizzling HOT!! Their chemistry is off the charts for one another. Will the fantasy, desires, chemistry, and emotions be enough to overcome the myth, lies, and undesired pasts that surround them. Find out when you read this amazing book by Joya Ryan. This book had me laughing out loud at times and at other times fanning myself with my Kindle to cool myself down. This is a SUPER HOT book, you can't say I didn't warn you!! LOVED this book!!! 5 RED HOT FANTASY STARS!!!
Ava Webber is looking for a sexual awakening from someone who will never get emotionally close. She had been in a marriage with a controlling man and never wanted that life again. She gets a membership at a sex club where Nolan Hart works. He sees her innocence and decides to keep a close eye on her. Rules of Seduction is an excellent book to get a tiny peek into the world of BDSM. I enjoyed seeing Ava find out who she is without being controlled in her life. Love how Ava grows and becomes the woman she was meant to be. I was gifted this ebook in return for an honest review.
I will continue to post authors who cheat readers with books less that 250 pages for more than $2
This story was well written. This was my first time to read from this author and I love her. Can't wait to read more of her books.
My Thoughts: I could tell from the very first chapter that this book was going to be amazing. When you can tell from the beginning, I think it's a good sign. The feel of the author's words, the feel of the characters...it would take a lot for the book to become something I don't enjoy. But for Rules of Seduction, it was perfection from start to finish. Nolan and Ava completely hit it off upon first meeting. He was trying to be honest and blunt with her and she not only took it, but sent it right back at him. I loved it. Nolan likes Ava from the start, and given some past problems, he doesn't want her to get hurt. So, he decides to be the anonymous person she sees at Serve. And it's great at first, but the two of them start to become friends outside of Serve. Pretty soon, they begin to fall for each other, but when Ava finds out that Nolan is Myth, the man she's been with anonymously at Serve, will she be able to forgive Nolan? Rules of Seduction will not only seduce you, but cause many swoons as well. I fell for Nolan as himself and as Myth... I fell for him hard. And Ava--she was amazing. She didn't hold back when it came to getting what she wants. I love that quality in a person. I couldn't stop reading AND I couldn't stop re-reading! And now I need to buy it on release day so I can't keep re-reading it whenever I want. It's my first Joya Ryan book, and I swear, I'm going to keep seeking out more by her. My Rating: Exceptional
Great romance book. I could not put it down once I started to read it!
Cant get enough! Love the characters, the passion, the story! Joya does it again and again. The next one cant come quick enough!
Nolan and Ava are great together, not only in the bedroom, but also outside of it. Of course, Ava doesn't know that Nolan is the same man fulfilling her fantasies inside Serve as "Myth". Her interaction with Nolan is cute, but super hot with Myth. The sex scenes are sensual with a really light touch of BDSM. Their relationship develops pretty quickly, but it didn't feel rushed. I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. ARC via NetGalley
Ava Webber went through her own personal hell when it came to ex-husband. Free from him, Ava is reinventing herself into the person she wants to be and crossing boundaries she never thought she would. Her need for exploring the BDSM scene takes her to Serve, a BDSM nightclub. Nolan Hart is protective over all his clients after something went wrong in the past. With a woman as open as Ava is to trying new things, Nolan knows that the only person he can trust not to take advantage of Ava is himself. By putting himself in the position to be both her friend and her lover, Nolan also places himself in an awkward position because he starts to develop feelings for her while a) keeping dual identities and b) knowing that she wouldn't return his feelings. What happens when Ava realizes that her mystery man isn't such a mystery after all? Rules of Seduction is the 7th book in the Serve series, but the first one written by Joya Ryan. Joya seamlessly blends into the Serve series beside Tessa Bailey and Katee Robert. Rules of Seduction is sexy & steamy and features BDSM scenes. This book can be read as a stand alone, but features characters from previous books. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Rules of Seduction and liked the plot and the element of mystery behind the blindfold. Ava's clashing feelings for each man and how she feels torn between a man she doesn't know, but has passion with, and a man that she can laugh and be free with, really sell the story. I honestly felt for Ava and the things that she had experienced in her past. I also rooted for Nolan to break down those barriers blocking her heart. From the moment they met, I thought they would be a good match but I would've never guessed the passion and chemistry they would have. I really enjoyed both Ava and Nolan's characters and their story. There was a hint of something there that was referenced a few times involving Nolan's past and a girl that had gotten hurt during a scene which I wished the author would of expanded on a bit more since it was mentioned a few times, but other than that Ryan's writing is flawless and erotic. If you love books with a BDSM theme, this one is for you! *I was provided a copy of this book via the publisher in exchange for an HONEST review.*
Seventh in the Serve series, but the first from Joya Ryan--and hooo boy, what a way to continue/start in the series! It works fine as a standalone, but if you've read other books, a few characters pop in and out and a couple of prior scenes are alluded to...there's nothing you'd need to have read to make this story complete, though--so, great place to start if you're a newbie. A quick read with a relatively short timeline, Ms. Ryan still totally made me buy into Ava and Nolan's relationship despite their major hangups and the fact that they didn't know each other all that long from start to finish. Their relationship(s) were intense, though, as was their connection, so she had me convinced! I liked the touch of humor the author brought to the story; Nolan has just the right amount of charming snark--the scene where he shows up at Ava's door just after the huge box of complimentary sex toys (her marketing firm is working on developing a campaign for their company) is just too funny! Their "scenes" in the club are really more about learning to trust and giving up control in a safe environment than true BDSM; they make for a sexy yet sweet story. Anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series--bring it on! Rating: 4 stars / A- I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Was Nolan a Myth or a Fantasy fro Ava or was he her Future ?? From coming from an emotional, degrading relationship Ava just wanted to let go, to feel free and to be her own person. Was she going to find what she needed at Serve or will it find something more than she ever thought she was capable of having given her past relationship..... Nolan saw something in Ava at first sight and sound....could Ava be the one to tame his mind, body and soul or will be she his undoing ?? Nolan never wanted or thought he didn't want a relationship but when he became Myth to Ava he wanted to give her everything she wanted in the club and outside in the real world but can he convince Ava he was what she wanted with out revealing who he really was with out breaking her heart and his ins processes ?? Thus story was riveting from page one....made you want to turn to next page to see if Ava and Nolan could become more than clients, friends or lovers....you never know what will happen when your heart gets involved !!
A Sweet & Sexy Read After freeing herself from a controlling marriage in which she felt caged, Ava Webber has finally reached a place where she feels like a strong, confident woman again. Refusing to fall into another relationship and afraid of losing herself in love, Ava decides to explore her sexuality at Serve, a BDSM nightclub with a reputation for catering to a woman's every fantasies. Although Ava states on her application that she's open to anything, she has a hard rule about complete anonymity. refusing to risk forming any kind of emotional attachment to the man she's with. It's all just sex for Ava, or so it would have been had Nolan Hart not been the one conducting her interview. From the moment she meets him she's extremely attracted to him and his wicked grin. He's incredibly easy to be around and has a straight forward nature and dirty mouth that light a fire in her. Nolan knows right off the bat that he wants to be the one to fulfill her desires and acts as her anonymous lover, Myth, while the blindfolded Ava is none the wiser. From the very beginning his main concern is for her safety and pleasure, and his actions are driven by a desire to support her fantasies and her need to maintain anonymity. But as these two become friends outside of the club the sparks continue to fly and the lines between Myth and Nolan, fantasy and reality, lust and love, begin to blur. For a novel based in a sex club there wasn't really as much BDSM as one would expect. Apart from a bit of blindfolding and some hand binding the book definitely was more on the sensual side. Don't get me wrong, Nolan's brought some explicit dirty talk to the table which kept the fire burning throughout the story and the multiple sex scenes were described in delicious detail (I don't think I'll ever think of tongue rings in the same way). It's a very sexy novel but it really focuses more on the two individuals getting to know each other emotionally and sexually rather than the club's kinks, which I actually really appreciated. You really grow to love Ava and Nolan together, from their teasing banter to their moments of vulnerability. Although I didn't feel like there was a ton of character development - possibly because reader's of the series already know and love Nolan - there was a great amount of growth and depth to Ava and Nolan's relationship. This is the first book I've read in the series (and by Joya Ryan) and although the book alluded to some things that happened in earlier books, I in no way felt like I was missing information or that this couldn't easily be read as a stand-alone novel. I truly enjoyed RULES OF SEDUCTION and loved the bond between Ava and Nolan. It might not have been as dark or overt as one would expect from a book that takes place in a BDSM club but it was still a total panty melter. There was a such a great balance between friendship and fantasy, sweet and sexy. The novel was well-paced and actually felt a bit short because I just devoured the whole thing. I definitely want to pick up some more books from the series and see how some of Serve's other couples came together. If you're looking for a contemporary romance that's got some great dirty talk and a strong, well-developed bond between the lovers, definitely check this one out! Disclaimer: I received this book free in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.
I really enjoyed this Serve installment. It was a pretty quick read, but very steamy and filled with emotion. That is what I loved so much, I ached for Ava and Nolan to get their happy every after. I think I can say Rules of Seduction is one of my favorite in the Serves series. ;) The banter between Nolan and Ava was delightful. Their times in the bedroom were sexy and hot, and I felt satisfied, yet I preferred their interactions outside of sex. Those scenes where they slowly learned each other, laughing and falling in love was well done, and my heart actually ached a few times, and I did a lot of happy sighs. They only thing I wished was for Rules of Seduction to be longer. I desperately wanted to spend more time with Nolan and Ava. They were that scrumptious together. The plot was very simple and straightforward, but written in a very captivating manner, and the author had me turning the pages desperate to know how Ava would react when she found out her fantasy lover and the man she was falling in love with were one and the same. Overall an enjoyable read and a solid installment in the Serve series. Though it is book #7, it reads as a standalone, and with its own unique voice. :) I recommend. This review was originally posted on Geeks In High School
This story provided everything the reader needs including romance and a little mystery (well at least mystery for Ava). It was easy to connect with the leads as they were created with enough depth to get a feeling for them. And the story itself was intriguing and good developed. In total a very enjoyable read and I am looking forward to Ms. Ryans next book > > > I have received this Book as an ARC from the Publisher < < < > > > In Exchange I promised an honest Review < < <
What a Sensual and Emotional Delight. Fantastic-Highly Recommend!! ***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review**** Here is another great story in the “SERVE” series. This is Ava Webber & Nolan Hart story of how they can to be. Ava was wanting to get her life together and make sure she does NOT go back to the woman she once was- the woman that needed a man to prop her up, to “validate” her. No sir, she is not going back there. Her ex controlled her life too much and she has too much to lose now in her new life. She does not need a man to prop her up but that doesn’t mean she can’t go find a man to “tie her down” if you know what I mean. Ava is looking for some no strings attached fun in the bedroom and where else can she get that but Serve; the exclusive sex club that is for people like her. In comes Nolan- he is Serve’s resident matchmaker. He is tasked with matching up subs with a Dom and making dreams come true. Nolan takes his job very seriously due to an incident at his previous club where the Dom hurt a sub when the Dom didn’t listen to the sub’s needs and pushed too hard. Ever since then Nolan has become very cautious yet cold about his job BUT when he meets Ava his heart and gut gets a kick. She tells him what she wants which is “for anything the club has to offer” from a man he can put her with wants to give her. Nolan asks Ava “Anything?” Ava states yes but her only conditions are they she doesn’t see the man and is blindfolded. Which , when Nolan hears this, sets up the scene for some of the hottest scenes yet for the Serve series. Nolan sets up a series of intimate encounters with himself and Ava for which she thinks are with nameless, faceless men but really its just Ava and Nolan. There is a twist to his disguise and Ava is fooled. She has some of the hottest sex around with Nolan. It is full of passion; sensual, sexual, intense, yet plays to her faceless requirement and that is pretty hot . I understand where Ava comes from asking for this yet my heart hurts for her and I hurt for Nolan because he is falling deeper for Ava and he knows sooner or later she will find out and when she does… In the blindfold, Nolan becomes this character called Myth to Ava and its exciting to read how real he becomes to her and how she is coming to crave him during their encounters and how she seeks him each and every time. Ava fell in love with him and Nolan/Myth with her but like all romance novels, something bad always happens when good things are going right. When the blindfold is taken off and shown that her secret lover is Nolan, is their love affair over? Will Nolan fight for their love? Will Ava realize their love is worth fighting for? This book is really worth sitting down and getting seduced into reading and finding out the answer. My rating: 4.6 stars ****

Everyone has their own set of limits, and boundaries they are willing to live within, however, some people start to feel caged in their own lives and have a deep desire to test those limits a little... and Ava Webber is one of those people. Coming out of a mentally abusive and controlling relationship she craves a "no strings attached" kind of relationship, and the freedom to truly be herself. She wants a carnal relationship that allows her to experiment with control, submission, and something that satisfies all her sexual needs without any sort of commitment. Which takes her to Serve, a place where she can step outside her comfort zone, have her personal limits tested, and truly be free to live out her wildest fantasies with a man she only knows as Myth. While at Serve she also meets Nolan, a man that sneaks his way into her heart, without her even realizing it. He becomes a much needed friend in her new life, and teaches her how to let go and truly become free in her new life, and also helps her shed a horrible past she so desperatly wants to forget. Nolan slowly becomes someone she can see herself having a committed relationship with...only she has a little problem...what is she going to do about Myth? Can she give up one man for another?? This is definitely another tantalizing and higly satisfying read by Ms. Ryan, she does not disappoint! Highly recommend you get your hands on this book, it will satisfy all of your reading needs...and then some!
3 Little Miss Anything stars Ava Webber finds herself awaiting her final membership interview into Serve (New York’s renowned BDSM club). Having escaped a controlling relationship, she wanted this to just be about the carnal side of a relationship. She was flourishing at work, and wanted the same confidence injected into her personal life. This way, she could perfect the balance. In fact, wouldn’t it be better if her interaction was anonymous, then there will be little chance of developing a relationship, surely. Nolan Hart is the membership matchmaker at Serve, and takes his job very seriously. When he interviews Ava, he is blindsided. He decides that he will be the man for the job. After all, she’ll never know. A blindfold can disguise everything.. I have loved this series so far, which has been greatly enhanced by the mix up of different authors contributions. Joya Ryan is another author I have enjoyed in the past, so was excited to jump into the 7th in this series. The concept of this story was enticing, and Nolan’s story was long overdue. I enjoyed Joya’s easy storytelling. The story flowed well, and I was able to love Nolan, whilst despising Ava quite easily ;-) I didn’t, however, enjoy this story as much as the previous ones for 2 main reasons. Firstly, it was very BDSM lite, which in itself isn’t a problem, but this series has perfected the right balance, and I just felt this one didn’t quite reach the same lofty heights. Secondly, the character development was fairly superficial. We have an understanding of Ava’s past, and sadly not very much of Nolan’s. So I felt that the lack of broadening that detail hampered my ability to truly connect with this story. ARC provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review..
There are no rules in love. A woman trying to regain her confidence and a man restlessly searching for something more. With Rules of Seduction, Joya Ryan gives the reader a sensual look at a love affair that neither character say coming. Falling in love has never hurt so good. Received an ARC for an honest review.
I discovered Joya Ryan’s books a few months ago and have really enjoyed the ones I’ve read so far. Accepting a review copy of this one was a no-brainer. I was, however, totally taken by surprise because I didn’t realize this was a continuation of the Serve series. And, more importantly, that it was about the bouncer Nolan who I’ve been curious about for so long now! (Yes, I do frequently request/accept books from beloved authors without ever actually reading the synopsis. But it’s all good when it leads to pleasant surprises like it did with this book!) I tackled this book and read it cover to cover one night when I had insomnia as a result of a loud thunderstorm. It was exactly what I needed to distract me. It didn’t put me to sleep, but it was worth sacrificing some sleep for this story. I regret nothing. Rules of Seduction was a fantastic read. I really liked the characters. I mean, Nolan was a given. I’ve been wanting more of him for months now. Ava was a great heroine. I enjoyed reading about her embracing her fantasies and moving past her mentally abusive ex-husband’s manipulations. Nolan and Ava clicked from the very beginning and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen as Nolan agreed to set her up with a man willing to help her explore her darker side. When he decides he’s the only one who will be fulfilling her desires, I knew I was in for a fantastic ride. Joya brings the heat and the feels with this book! The anonymity factor between Ava and “Myth” definitely spiced things up. Of course, I knew it was Nolan the whole time, so I enjoyed watching Ava get to know both sides of this man. Whether it was daylight flirting and friendship with Nolan or nighttime escapades with Myth, I loved these characters together. I knew it was likely to get interesting when the truth finally came out, but I hoped they could pull through it. If you like your romance hot – and with a touch of BDSM – you have to read the Serve series. They’re delicious bite-sized books that are guaranteed to raise your temperature and maybe even an eyebrow or two. And, most importantly, the characters are likable and real and even with the BDSM, there’s some great romance to be found. Rules of Seduction was a fantastic addition to this series and definitely one of my favorites. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
3 - "You're way too hot not to grope." Stars. I am a big fan of Joya Ryan, her Chasing Love series (also published through Entangled-Brazen) is one of my absolute favorites, and as such I was interested to see what she would bring to the Serve series. ”I wouldn’t trust anyone else to take care of you.” Being honest the vacated stilettos that Joya has stepped into (Katee Robert & Tessa Bailey) are some pretty big shoes to fill, but I was wholly expecting her to buckle-up, customize and make them her own. Not forgetting the fact that this is Nolan Hart’s book, the guy I have been itching to find out more about since the beginning, and the expectations were high for me, from the get-go. ”He’s one of the best Serve has to offer.” As you can guess by my rating, my expectations were unfortunately not met on this occasion. Main reasons being – • I had absolutely no visualization of either Ava or Nolan, for pretty much all of the book apart from eye color, hair color and the fact Nolan was ripped nothing else was really described. • I also struggled to feel any emotion between either of them or for them due to the limited exploration of their pasts, hints were given but nothing was really elaborated on in relation to Ava’s commitment issues and Nolan’s over-protectiveness. I think this would have helped me understand Ava and her motivations a little more, because her whole persona just felt really ‘cold’ and unfeeling a lot of the time. • The only time you really get a glimpse of anything between them is when they are hanging out as friends, and even in these instances Ava seems to be able to switch her persona’s on and off like a kettle. • Nolan although likeable and full of confidence, again really lacked any ‘substance’ for want of a better word, and bearing in mind he has popped up on quite a few occasions in the previous books I was expecting more for him, and from him. I don’t know, maybe it’s me having unrealistic expectations on all fronts, but this book in general just felt very lackluster, nothing really stood out, the storyline at best was average and although the sex well written and versatile, certain aspects of it felt like they had been added just to spice things up, rather than because they were needed. ”If I had known you were inviting me to a sex party, I would have bought my a-less chaps.” An easy read, nothing wrong with it per se, but I was expecting more.
