Overview

Twelve unlucky years ago, rumors flew about Lexi and Kevin. And now? Well, not much has changed, except this time neither can run away. Not from Christmas Mountain. And maybe . . . not from each other.

As a political strategist at Dunlop Bennet & Associates, Lexi Townsend's career is going nowhere. She's a cubical dweller writing speeches for freshmen senators in DC. But if she can hitch her career wagon to a rising political star, she'll be on her way to a corner office in no time. When she's offered a plum holiday assignment–an ideal candidate with deep pockets, someone who could make the leap from local to national politics–she starts to dream about that corner office.

Until she realizes her candidate is Kevin O'Malley, aka Kevin the Hottie, Kevin the Snob, Kevin the Liar, the same guy who shattered her high school reputation back home in Christmas Mountain with a rumor. Assignment in hand, Lexi braces herself for the most difficult political race of her career--because this time it's personal.

I enjoyed the parts of the story where Lexi reunites with her childhood friends and realizes how much they mean to her. My not-so-favorite parts involved the dysfunctional relationship between Lexi and Kevin. Even though he comes from an emotionally abusive background, it doesn't excuse the way he treated her in the past and the way he behaves in the present- mixing charm with indifference, depending on what will get him what he wants. I had a difficult time understanding their connection and thought she could do better. The romance in this one is turbulent but of course ends with a happily ever after. (I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

"Rumor Has It: In Christmas Falls" (Return to Christmas Falls Book 4) by Melinda Curtis is a great read. I enjoyed Kevin and Lexi's story. This is a sweet Christmas story, with romance, second chances, small-town life, close friends, twists and turns, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of Christmas, and sweet romances.

Isn't it crazy how rumors can make or break people? Lexi knows firsthand just how damaging rumors can be because of her secret high school relationship with Kevin. Working with him now, years later, is going to be a challenge for sure. I thought it was slightly hard to connect to Lexi because of the chip on her shoulder that she holds towards Kevin, but when I really thought about it, she definitely has good reason to feel that way towards him and it would be tough to move on, especially when she has to work with him and those devilish tenancies of his pop up now and then. Has he really changed? He seems to do whatever will benefit him most, whether it's the truth or not, but he does have that charmingly good streak lying beneath it all. So on the flip side, while Kevin is likable, it took me some time to trust him, especially knowing his background. I loved watching these characters shift their opinions and grow into their potentials, especially as things got tough. The interactions with some of the characters from the other books in the series is the icing on the cake, as far as I'm concerned. I loved Curtis's take on this town and enjoyed learning more about Lexi and her story. I highly recommend this series for sweet romance lovers and if nothing else, read this series this Christmas! Content: mild romance, mild language *I received a copy, which had no influence on my thoughts and opinions.*

Melinda Curtis’ Rumor Has It Lexi Townsend has s a political strategist. She feels her career is not advancing. When given the chance to help a rising political candidate, Lexi feels excitement until she discovers who the candidate is. It is the only person that Lexi ever loved but the same person who ruined her reputation. This rumor was so bad that she left her home town of Christmas Falls. Now she is headed home and in for a load of surprises. A heartwarming romantic plot filled with many ups and down. There is undeniable chemistry between the main characters but will they be able to cross the barriers of past and present rumors. Amidst the shenanigans of the colorful, interesting, quirky and fun town people and the towns traditions anything can happen. This is book # 4 in the Return To Christmas Falls series. It can be read as a stand alone with no problems following the story. You will enjoy reading. I volunteered to read Rumor Has It. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.

This is such a fun story and great collection! Melinda Curtis along with six other authors have written stories all revolving around one small town, a group of friends and a teacher that gets them all to return to save a small town community forever. You won't want to miss any of them! I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. all conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Lexi Townsend isn't looking forward to coming back to Christmas Falls. After high school she left town. Rumors had circulated about her and Kevin O'Malley. This made her life difficult. Now she's back and her job is to help Kevin win the mayoral election. Can she work with the man who destroyed her dreams? I liked Lexi's spunky attitude. She faced the town's disapproval and held her head high. I hated that she was looked down on by those people who considered themselves superior. It took me awhile to warm up to Kevin. He used Lexi to protect himself. His reason may have been good, but the way he did it bothered me. As these two spend time together, I felt their chemistry build. I wanted them to get their HEA. Christmas Falls is the perfect setting for this second chance at love romance. I like visiting here. Melinda Curtis pulled me into this story. Her characters are well written and easy to relate to. The plot has some unexpected twists that kept me reading. I enjoyed Rumor Has It In Christmas Falls. I'm looking forward to more stories that take place here. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Small town rumors add a lot of havoc when Lexi returns home for her D.C. job assignment as a campaign manager for her high school crush from 12 years ago, Kevin, who is running for Mayor in Christmas Falls, Tennessee. With her sassy fun humor, I got into the concept of small town rumors and really enjoyed listening to the residents banter at each other and directly to both Lexi and Kevin. Lexi attempts to straighten out these rumors of parenthood to toddler, Roberta (who Kevin addresses as Bobbie). The way the town sees things is just plain crazy. I laughed out loud and was pleasantly surprised at how truth and honesty come into play with this story. Expect big changes and see how things play out when everything is revealed. I enjoyed this story and recommend it. [I received this book for free.]
