Great government agency /spy adventure! Set in current times, addressing some current situations with current technology. I loved that it was written with enough information about the technology to inform the technologically challenged, but not so much that it was boring by any means. The situations were tense, and it was apparent that both sides had those who were at the top of their game. I liked when previous co-conspirators were pitted against one another with enough insight to outguess the other's intentions. It made for more edge of your seat tension. Glad I read this, and will read more of this author's work. Also, one of the best female protagonists ever! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and author Alan McDermott for giving me a copy of RUN AND HIDE in exchange for my honest opinion. ~~~ This review will post to my website on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 9 am. ~~~ Exhilarating! Every time I thought the chase was over, Driscoll had another trick up her sleeve!  I love a good bad-ass chick being the main character, and Eva Driscoll is just that. She knows the ins-and-outs of the hired hit-men’s world, because she used to be one. She’s smart and always one step ahead of the “bad” guy. I am excited to see where her story ends up next! Run and Hide is an action-packed thrill ride that will have conspiracy theorist jumping from their seats. Lovers of Dan Brown or Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series will love this thrilling new series by Alan McDermott!   From one bookaholic to another, I hope I’ve helped you find your next fix.—Dani Dani's Score out of 5:

This was a fun ride and a good beginning for a series. I’d not read Alan McDermott before, so didn’t know what to expect but I found the premise interesting. And wow, there's a lot going on here! Conspiracies, globe-trotting, suspense, nasty villains - all centered around a Sydney Bristow-style super-agent. She extricates herself and her motley crew through some pretty gnarly situations in some over-the-top ways, but that’s half the fun of this type of book. I may not have known about McDermott before, but he’s definitely on my radar now, and I look forward to reading more from him, both Eva’s further adventures and his other books. Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer who provided a copy for an unbiased review.

This book is full of non-stop action. An army unit is being killed off in civilian life. The sister of one of the guys, Eva is after the group. She saves the life of Colback the last of the unit her brother was in. they go after the shadowy group that is running the country and most of the world. Eva is badass and shows how smart she is as she goes up against this shadow group. I enjoyed the writing and the people who came to help them. There was unexpected help from all sides. lots of action and double crosses. thank you, Net Galley, for giving me a chance to find a new author. Loved the end. hope to read more about this ragtag group.

This is the first book by this author that I have read, but it definitely won’t be the last. It is an action-packed story with many similarities to happenings in the world today . . . Enough similarities that it was scary. It captured my interest at the first chapter and kept me turning pages well into the night until I finished it. I had to find out what happened next. I enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to reading more by this author. I received a copy of Run and Hide from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was amazing! Not since Jack Reacher and Vanessa “Michael” Munro has there been a character like Eva Driscoll. This novel was an action packed page turner that I could not put down. I can’t wait to find out what else is in store for her and for us!

WOW! Once you start this book, hang on to something. You will be going on a fast paced ride. The action starts and never lets up! It stops at the end but just enough for you to get a breath and look to purchase the next. It seems to be a part of a series but this is a complete book. You are not left upset because the action stopped in the middle of the climactic ending. Well written story

This is not really my genre, but I will admit that it is a fun and interesting departure. As far as I'm concerned, all the characters are believable, if not all of the action. Just a few instances, near the end, are reminiscent of a popular action-movie series, and a very good one at that. Eva Driscoll, the female lead and leader of the pack of CIA/MI5 operatives, is clever and capable. The male characters perfectly fit their roles, as does Henry Langton, the very credible villain. Eva and her crew are out to claim the lives of those who took her brother's life. The story is enriched by the military vs rich-men-in-power chase. At odd intervals during the fast-paced reading of Run and Hide, it's difficult to tell whether one is reading a book, watching a movie, or tuned in to the latest news! There is a modicum of strong language and at least one pretty graphic, squeamish scene; however, it fits the plot and works with the circumstances at the moment. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher. I really enjoyed the book.

A big thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read and review RUN AND HIDE by Alan McDermott. This novel is the fourth in the Tom Gray series, but works as a standalone and Tom Gray has a very minor role. The main character is Eva Driscoll, a former soldier and clandestine CIA agent. The story starts off hitting the ground running as Eva rescues Rees Colback, who has barely managed to escaped being killed in broad daylight by some unknown assassins. Rees quickly realizes that Eva is the sister of his friend and former Special Forces teammate, Jeff Driscoll. The title of this thriller truly fits as both Rees and Eva realized they are in extreme danger because a powerful group needs to kill them both to keep some issues secret. This novel goes at a furious pace and leaves you almost breathless. It is not a book for bedtime, but needs to be read at a time when you can be focused and uninterrupted for maximum enjoyment. I seem to be reading more and more thrillers of various sorts in recent months. RUN AND HIDE is definitely #1 for my summer reading and is a book for those who enjoy fast paced action and suspense. I will be looking for more novels by the talented Mr. McDermott in the future.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Wow, I don't usually read books like this but I'm sure glad I accepted this read from the publisher. This book is full of excitement, intrigue, and adventure. What would you do if someone from the government was trying to kill you????? Run, of course..........but where do you go? Help arrives on a motorcycle and away we go!!!!! I do not like make protagonists in the books I read but Alan McDermott has changed my mind about that. Enjoy!!

If you like a book with a strong female lead character and lots of action to keep you interested from page one to the end this is the book for you! Eva Driscoll is after the most powerful secret society in the world. This select group will do anything to fill their pockets. They buy off politicians, create disasters to make money and buy off police, judges, lawyers, foreign diplomats and anyone who can be of use in their pursuit of money and power. And if they can't buy them they kill them. This secret society killed Eva's brother and staged it as a suicide. Eva, a trained assassin, is a deadly force to reckon with and she is going after the people who murdered her only brother. A roller coaster ride of a story that keeps you reading into the night. So well written you feel connected to Eva and the characters she enlists to help her bring down this powerful and evil society. I will be watching for the next Eva Driscoll story! I received the digital copy through NetGalley in return they ask my honest opinion. I highly recommend this book! I can't wait to get the sequel when it's written!

This is certainly full of action - it starts from the beginning and rarely halts. McDermott displays an ability to include the gory details of murder and death but with enough description of the characters and surroundings to provide a feasible setting. The plot is fast-moving - possibly a little too much so at the beginning to feel familiar enough with the characters - but further clarifications ensure you want to continue to the end. Overall a definite recommend for lovers of action and thrillers.

Taut suspense novel, that kept me reading solidly until finished. Eva is out to find who killed her brother and made it look like a suicide, and more importantly why. Along the way she makes a team of sorts and gets answers to her questions. The action is good with holding the suspense aspect as the what happens next continues. Likable characters, vile villains, and lots of action carries this book, hoping we see a follow up of this story. I received from Netgalley for an honest review.

An exciting story. What do you do to fight the wealthiest men in the world who seem to control the world? Just get the few best people together. A little gory toward the end, but a fast-paced book that reads quickly.

The writing in this book is very good.. The story keeps you wanting more. If you like books about Jason Bourne or Espionage this is one for you. There are twist and turns and you are not sure where you will end up.

Non Stop Action - Fast Paced I love this book. It starts out with an explosion of action and the action never stops. Interesting plots about CIA agent, Eva Driscoll, who has been put on the kill list. She teams up with soldier Colbert to try to survive and find out why they are targeted. Eva is definitely out for revenge. This book is full of interesting twists and turns, a real cliff hanger. My kind of book.
