This book is written for coaches or runners who self coach to meet running goals. It will probably be a bit too much information for the recreational runner. I have used different training plans for 5K - 50K races over the years with various levels of success. Through this book, Matt has helped me understand adaptive training and letting me be the best judge of my training plan, to go harder or softer. But in order to become an adaptive runner, one must know their limits and have at least a decent understanding of different workouts. I really enjoyed learning about how elite runners workout and how they have found success. I have already applied some of the teachings and think that this book will change the way I run for the rest of my running career.
