What do you learn when you’re on the run?
Timing is everything.
Coincidences are more reliable than a rising sun.
And my heart can bear a thousand more nails than my coffin.
Ben’s family murdered my parents and so I took my revenge. I changed the course of our futures with one flick of a matchstick.
I run to survive. I run to protect those I love. I run so that my daughter doesn’t have to.
With danger lurking over my shoulder, trusting strangers is dangerous until you don’t have a choice. Barely alive, I placed my life in the hands of the handsome and mysterious bounty hunter Xavier Black.
He gave me everything and asked for nothing. He helped me live again; but now, he’s the one who needs to run with me.
We can each choose to stop the hunt, but if one of us chooses wrong, that extra nail won’t be driven into our hearts but straight into our coffins.
About the Author
Lacey likes to make her readers blush and experience the story as if they were the characters. Drawing on the reader's most sensitive emotions through realistic stories satisfies her more than... ...ok not really, but you get the point ;)
She likes a pinkish shade on a woman's cheeks, men with large feet and sexy lingerie-especially when it's torn off the body. Her favorite piece of clothing is a birthday suit.If you enjoyed the story, please consider leaving a review. All authors depend on the support of their readers to find an audience. This is a fantastic beginning to the series. Emotional and gripping. It really sets the stage and provides you with so much background info for the next book. I'll be honest, there were some sections that were difficult for me because the pace of the time and location/way of life of the characters. This has more to do with the way my brain picks up information as opposed to the quality of writing by Lacey. Timing really is everything - as the blurb tells us. What it doesn't tell us is the way the story and time line is laid out for us it refuses to let you go. The way it's written will force the story to stay with you. The small town in the middle of nowhere will have you rooting for the everyday people and true love. The ending is jaw dropping and will make you crave Sin with Me (thank goodness it's been released). I highly recommend this book and this author. If you haven't read Lacey Silks yet, you don't know what you're missing. I received a copy of this book from the author and am choosing to leave a voluntary and completely honest review.
This book has it all.. friends, lovers, loyalty, betrayal, death and the MOB !! When Anna looses everything she has to a house fire she knew exactly who killed her family. Can a stranger pull her from the wreckage of her life one day at a time or will the pull to be back in her hometown be stronger than the under lying love she feels for this stranger. Xavier is just doing his job but when he come across Anna in Pace he never knew that she would change his life forever.... The compassion these two character have for each other to be and do the right thing has this pull to put them together and keep them together even when time has past since he left Pace. But when tragedy strikes again will he run with her or will she have to run again on her own like she did once before .... This is such a cliff hanger .. I hope two weeks goes fast because wil he or won't he ....
This is a fast-paced roller coaster ride of suspense and drama. I was hooked from beginning to end. Anna is an amazing character having gone through so much. A great read!
This Prequel Will Get You Hooked! Run with Me is a very interesting and exciting prequel. It has characters you love: Anna, John, Xavier, Jack & Mary, and characters you hate: Ben, Mateo, Pablo, and the entire Cortez family. This book does not contain a lot of sex scenes, but sure does deliver on the more-than-friendship but not-yet-a-relationship front! It has a major plot shift in Chapter 9, which was unsettling for me at first, but this just reminded me of how much I enjoyed the beginning of the book. The second half pulled me in quickly and I enjoyed both parts of the book and how Lacey intertwined them both through Anna's eyes. Warning: CLIFFHANGER! I know Sin with Me, the first book in this series, will be awesome (I can’t wait to read it), but be prepared to get Sin with Me right away after reading this prequel! :)
