Karen Arnett-Spaulding passed away on January 11, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was in the middle of the sequel to "Running For Their Lives". She was the second oldest of eight siblings. I was her baby sister and we miss her a great deal. Her daughter and I are finishing the next book so be on the look out. Thanks for reading my sisters book. She was a great story teller.

Spaulding is a great story-teller. Informative and entertaining. Although the book is fiction, everything written could have happened and probably did. I found myself laughing and crying with the characters.

I could not put the book down. I read it in 2 days and now I am telling all my friends. I felt as if I were a part of the story

This is the best book I've read in a very long time. Oh my God, the love that Jeremiah & Sarah shared is awesome. The description this author gave of how slaves & slave owners had to stick together in order to survive was great. I can't wait to read her next book. If you haven't read this book yet then you are missing a treat.
