Jonny Bealby was devastated when his fiancee, Melanie, died unexpectedly while they were travelling in Kashmir. Two years later, still heartbroken and utterly disillusioned, he took on the challenge of a lifetime. Setting out with only his motorbike for company, he began a daring and dangerous journey around the African continent in a desperate attempt to unearth some meaning in his life. Bittersweet, bold and beautifully told, Running with the Moon is a tale of true love and loss, of exploration, adventure and courage.

A wild and courageous motorbike adventure around the African continent that will keep you in its grip until you've finished the last page. One of my all-time favourites.
If you love the thrill of traveling by motorcycle and dreaming big, this book is for you! I read this book over Christmas of 1999, in 4 days. It combines my favorite activities, travel, adventure, motorcycling, and...DREAMING! The author Bealby goes from North to South on the West side of the African continent, then comes up the East side! All because he was searching for something...or running from something... 'I miss the rain down in Africa' (Toto)
