About the Author

As far back as her college days, Eressë enjoyed writing stories set in historical times or, even better, fantasy settings. A good number turned into homoerotic romances because many of her male lead characters wound up having more chemistry with each other than with the female leads.

Whether Eressë subconsciously wrote them that way even she does not know. In any case, this penchant for fantasy M/M romance became the wellspring of Ylandre, the world in which her seminal piece Sacred Fate and its sequels Hallowed Bond and By Chance Met take place.

Eressë lives in Southeast Asia with her husband, three sons and one dog.

First of all, let me say the world building is excellent in this story. The author manages to weave a world that seems both familiar and yet alien at the same time. The MCs are extremely likeable. Who doesn't love a strong alpha male and kind-hearted yet sturdy foil. The attraction is immediate between the two and acknowledged. Lassen doesn't spend anytime saying will he or won't he....instead we are treating to them slowly getting to know each other while they explore their sexuality. Shocker: Rohyr is a freak! *g* The author takes time to age our characters....the book actually takes place over a decade, during which to stories of other characters in the series seem to be moving in parallel. This makes for a pleasant change, theirs is no angsty back and forth...instead we are treated to two people who really care about each other and hit a crossroades in their relationship. Can things keep going as they are or do they have to change? The conflict and resolution, while simple, doesn't appear contrived. The emotions felt real and I found myself crying and shaking my head at the same time.
