Book One in the Druid Series

Sometimes fated love requires some good old-fashioned magikal meddling.

Coyle O'Caha, a seven-hundred-year-old immortal, druid sorcerer, is a famed warrior among his kind and a legendary ladies' man-but that doesn't mean he hasn't spent his life looking for his soulmate. That one woman who will make him feel whole. When Deri walks into his seaside pub, clearly running from something or someone, it's all he can do to not sweep her off her feet and claim her right then and there. It's as if the goddess is mocking him. Not only is his mate immune to his charms and his magik, she's human.

Deri Sullivan's new boss has a Scottish lilt that makes her knees weak. The problem is he's a certified ladies' man. And she's sworn off those types-for good. If only she could stop dreaming about him in ways that would make any girl blush. See, she has a secret, and even if she wanted to let Coyle into her bed, she couldn't actually let him into her life. Witches and humans simply don't mix.

Title: SACRED PLACES Series: Druids #1 **************************************************************************************** Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Received from: Mandy M. Roth (in exchange for an honest review) Grammar/editing: A – near perfect This is the first book in the Druid series. Each is said to stand on its own, but I always recommend reading a series in the order released. I absolutely loved this story (as I do all of the stories I have read from Mandy M. Roth). It was fun to “watch” Coyle and Deri lusting for each other and allowing their secrets to hold them back from acting on their desires, until a little meddling helps them out. Perfectly executed with hot sex, giggles, and macho posturing. There is also a wicked, wizardly, whiny weenie and family theatrics that will had me putting different names to some of the characters (sorry Aunt_____ - nope causing that real-life drama). I’m hoping I get to read book two very soon!

Deri is a witch wronged by an evil ex. Coyle is an ancient Druid. When Deri is exiled for misuse of magic(framed by her ex), she has to rely on her accounting training to make a living. Worried that her lack of references will make that impossible, she is drawn to Coyle's pub in Maine. She and Coyle are very drawn to each other but Druids are forbidden to mate with humans and he has no idea that Deri isn't exactly human. Unfortunately, Deri's ex isn't finished with her yet. I really enjoyed this story. Coyle and Deri are great characters. Both are keeping secrets and are frustrated in their attraction for each other. Everyone around them can see that they are meant for each other but they are blind to it. Deri is afraid to use any magic terrified that her ex will find her and Coyle fights his attraction thinking that she is human. I read this story long ago and was happy to reread it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Need something quick to read... this the book then. Once you start reading it is hard to put down. I just loved the chemistry between Coyle and Deri!   Coyle is a seven hundred year old immortal druid and Deri is a witch who has gone into hiding and not allowed to use magic. Coyle never realized that Deri was a witch until three years after meeting her. It took both of them three years to admit their feelings for each other. Once they realized they were destined mates, nothing could stop the heat coming off the pages! Can't wait to read the next book!

Sacred Places is the first Novella in Mandy Roth's Immortal Highlander series. This is an enjoyable short read that helps take you into a fantasy world of magic, witches and 700 year old hunky Druids. The story takes place in a small town in the present. Coyle a gorgeous sexy Druid who not only has important responsibilites as a high level Druid, he also owns and runs a popular bar. Women seem to be drawn to Coyle like he is a magnet.Deri is a pretty witch who has been framed and exiled from her family and community. She has been forbidden to use her magic by the council that rules her kind. On her own for the first time Deri finds herself in a town where she feels safe and lands a job at the bar owned by Coyle. She cannot let Coyle know she is a witch as she is in danger of being found by her ex.Coyle does not tell Deri he is a Druid and he can not feel her magic so assumes she is human. There is immediate sparks between the two, but Deri has secrets she must keep and Coyle is unable to mate with a human. Coyle is looking for his other half and becomes tortured by the fact that he can not claim Deri, he is tired of denying his love for her. There are some exciting twists and turns, lots of sexy romance, suspense and humor all packed into this entertaining story. Although this is a novella I would have liked the book to be longer but all in all a fun worthwhile read. Great first book that has you craving to read the rest of the series.

This is a great afternoon read for those who are looking for a sexy, magical romance. Coyle, an immortal druid is a hot, sexy Scotsman, who will make you drool. Deri, is a witch, that is in hiding from the black witch that is stalking her and because the Council has sent her packing. Their chemistry is immediate, but believing nothing can come of being with a “human” do nothing. But watch the sparks fly when Deri's stalker finds her and Coyle is immediately all protector of what is “his”. Watch Coyle kick some “black” magic butt to the curb. A fun read. Recommend for those that like the paranormal genre. Ms. Roth's characters are always hot, sexy and sizzling with chemistry. Was given an ARC from the author for an honest review.

Take one Feisty Woman and throw in one Hot Alpha Male= One Fantastic, Paranormal Awesome Read!! ***A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review*** Quick but fantastic read about Coyle O'Caha-a seven-hundred-year-old, immortal druid sorcerer, has one claim to fame - his experience mentoring fledgling witches.  He found his mate-Deri Sullivan when she came to work for him  but believes at first she is human so he doesn’t pursue her as his mate. But there is more to Deri than meets the eye. Deri  is a witch from a family of Magik holders. She has been sanctioned for using her Magik that harmed a human. The problem is she is innocent but she cannot get anyone, not even her own family to listen or even believe in her. Looking for a place to lay low (hide) after being sanctioned by the PBI (Paranormal Bureau of Investigations), she ends up in Grove Bluff , a place she remembers from childhood looking for work.  Where she meets the hero is Coyle, owner of the pub Deri goes to looking for work. Coyle and Deri are such a great couple and the sparks are definitely there.  The pair are drawn to each other but neither acts on their mutual attraction. What they do instead is work together for three years building their friendship.  Its only when Coyle realizes what Deri really is, is when the “gloves” come off, you could say. You will love it when the sparks finally begin to fly! This is an expanded version of her original story so enjoy the bounty.  I do not want to give off any spoilers but what I can say is there is something so special and so wonderful about the Alpha maleness of Colye and the feistiness and grit of Deri. This is one of Ms. Roth’s well written paranormal  novella books.   You will not go wrong with this story.  My rating: 4.7 stars ****

Great short story. Love the chemistry of the main characters. Left me wishing for an immortal hunk of my own. Never have I so enjoyed a short book as I did with Sacred Places! This book was not only beautifully written by Mandy M. Roth but it was laced with red hot sex and magik to keep me enthralled from the beginning to its end. Sacred Places is a book that I highly recommend, a must read and one book that should be read often.

Great Book! This is a great book; it is the first book in the Druid Series by Mandy Roth. Deri is a natural born witch who was forced away from her home and told never to perform magic again. She was convicted of a crime that she was set up for by her ex. She runs away to a town called Grove Bluff that she remembers from her childhood. She starts working for the sexy Coyle O’Caha who ends up being a seven hundred year old druid sorcerer. They are instantly attracted to each other but they both don’t want to tell their secret, since they both believe the other one is human. That is until Deri’s ex comes after her. This is a novella, so if you are looking for a short, but great read then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This is a sexy little quickie. Coyle is 700 year old immortal sorcerer. When he first meets Deri he is instantly drawn to her. But he believes that she is only a human and because of that she cannot be his true soulmate and Druids can only mate with other magical beings. Deri is on the run from a stalker ex. Forced into giving up her magik or face imprisonment for the rest of her life she ends up in the town of Grove Bluff looking for a place to hide. The sparks fly when these two meet and I have to say I really wished it was longer. The showdown with the ex was rushed but overall this was a nice steamy read. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series because who doesn't love smexy tattooed Druids? *I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review

Death by way of Coyle overload! 5 stars Oh how I wish I could have a Coyle too!!!  *sigh*  too bad he is fictional!  But I guess that is why he is so damn perfect!  LOL  What a HOT story!  SUPER AWESOME!!!  And yes, I will say it – I wish it had been longer!!  It was so great!!!  It has fantastic story, it’s magical, it’s funny, it’s both equal parts hot and sexy…and okay!  I will be honest!  Having it a shorter story did make it hotter and probably part of the reason I enjoyed it so much!  But on the other hand, I did see so many opportunities for more story!  The suspense would probably have killed me though, if it had been a longer story!  Of course, that being said, the story did not feel rushed or left me feeling cheated at the end…or in any part for that matter!!!  That is EXACTLY why it was such a perfect story as it is!  I have never doubted Mandy before, and I won’t start now!  No matter what kind of book, the length of the story, whether it is part of a series or a stand-alone, Mandy’s book are always terrific!!  There is never any extra story added in just to make a word count, there is never anything chopped down for the same reason either.  I have read quite a few of her books and have thoroughly enjoyed, okay LOVED, all of them!  I have even obsessed over a few of them!  Mandy is able to write about vampires, shifters, fae, aliens, time-travel, historical, futuristic, etc. and it doesn’t matter if it is light-hearted, intense or in the middle, and/or every combination of all of the above – you can guarantee that you will be taken on a terrific ride that you won’t want to see end any time soon!  Which is why, regardless of how long the story is, I ALWAYS want more!!!  That is why I always say that Mandy is one of those authors that truly has a gift and the talent to take any story and make it exceptional!  There isn’t one main character in any of her books that I have NOT wished was real.  I am always drawn into the worlds she creates.  Every time I finish a book I am sad that I am at “The End” and hope that it is a series so I can get more of my “fix”.  Even when it is a series, I hope there is more books so I don’t have to leave my new best book friends behind!  This story is not any different!  I thoroughly enjoyed it, even read it twice actually!  If you like a book where you can just jump right in and go, love magic, mystery, humor, HOT and sexy characters, hilariously annoying sub-characters, then you do not want to miss Sacred Places!!!
