In the book Sacrifice Squeeze a baseball coach is faced with saving his teenage son from repeating the same mistakes he made in his youth. When he learns that his sons girlfriend is pregnant and is planning to have an abortion he has to do something. Just like the baseball move Sacrifice Squeeze, when a batter bunts down the first base line and gets himself out on purpose so that the runner on third can make it home safe, James Moore sacrifices his own freedom to bring his grandchild home safe.
