About the Author

Bonnie Bryant is the author of nearly a hundred books about horses, including the Saddle Club series, Saddle Club Super Editions, and the Pony Tails series. She began writing the Saddle Club books in 1986. She had done some riding before that, but she intensified her studies and found herself learning right along with her characters, although she claims that Stevie, Carole, and Lisa are all much better riders than she is.

I loved this book! I liked it more than most of the other Saddle Club books because it was not in the regular setting of Pine Hollow. I also liked that there were different characters, too.

Hello, my name is Jack, the founder of Jack's Horse Role-Play. Here at Jack's, we have 5 things to focus on: racing, money, auction, breeding, and buying.
RACING:
There are 5 slots for horses in a race (first post first serve). No, if you enter a race you cannot just post "Gallops to first and wins coins". Your horse has a certain speed. If you just join, your horse will only go 10 mph. You can also buy speed, though. 1 coin give you an extra mph, 2 coins give you 2 mph, etc. Here are the ranks of races and the coins you earn: 1st= 5 coins, 2nd = 4 coins, 3rd = 3 coins, 4th= 2 coins, 5th (last)= 1 coin. The horse with the most mph wins the race! You cannot enter your horse in a race if they haven't been fed, given water, and have bad hygene. Find out how to keep your horse healthy in the "shop" section!
MONEY:
Money make this rp go 'round, it's true. You get coins from racing your horse. You spend coins on speed, auctions, hygene, food, and supplies. Spend your money wisely! All Newbs will be given $10 to start off with to buy a horse at an auction. It isn't smart to spend all your money on a horse; then you can't buy things! Keep track of your money and your horse's mph, too.
AUCTION:
All joining horses will go through an auction. If you don't get the rider you wanted, too bad. They paid good money for you! I, Jack, will be auctioning off horses.
BREEDING:
Don't worry, you don't have to go through the proccess. You must have a mate to have a foal. Foals do not go on auction; first come, first serve on riders.
BUYING:
Get money from races and you can buy horses and supplies!
Happy role-playing! -Jack

A great book. Taught how people ride when they are disable. I got a friend that is disabled and when i told him that he could ride he said he will start riding. i am sooooooooo happy. I love it when people learn lessons from books.

One of the best Saddle Clubs ! The beginning is kind of boring because everyone only talks about Emily but when Monica arrives the story gets VERY interesting!
