James Wilkens was almost a Manning groom—because he almost married one of the Manning sisters. With that broken engagement behind him, he spends New Year's Eve in Las Vegas…where he meets Summer Lawton. She's just suffered a painful betrayal, and James promises her that in a year, she'll be over it. To prove his point, he makes a date to meet her in Vegas Same Time, Next Year. Before I was born, my dad wanted me gone. He told my mother to get an abor<_>tion. I know this is a sin, but listen: they weren't married. There I said it. 'The responsibility was to much' or 'I don't like children' is what he claimed. But ya know what. My mom kept me alive. About 9 months later, I poped out and what do you know, he leaves. He just, leaves. My mom, a single mom, took care of me all by herself. Well, grandma did help. We were living in my grandarents place at the time, my mom leaving for work, while I stay with my grandmother.
Greg. Oh God. New man. Family man. Dad, to me. It happnend so fast, that by 2006 They were married and had my first sister, Coraline. Of course I hated her. But she is my litttle Coral. She is so sweet.
My mom takes this to hard.
She decided to call my real dad and make peace with him, asking if he wanted to see me. Of course he did. He came by our place picked me up and took me to his house for a bit. This is how its been going since, 2006 to today. He is threatening to take us to court, and sueing us because I dont see him enough. Whatever.
I hate him.
-Mars-

This was an easy, entertaining read. Makes one wonder if people put as much thought into marriage as the characters in this story did.
