Started out as a moving tale of Nazi Germany during the war thru the eyes of a young child. However, the ending was terribly disappointing.

I was hoping for more history and less soap opera but maybe where people are concerned the latter is alwys the over-shadowing reality.

This was a free book through Barnes & Noble and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. It starts out with Sandra as a young girl being dropped off at her grandparents, who she loves, by her dad, who she hates. From then on Sandra and her best friend, Lena, learn about Nazis and Jews and the war. I realize everything is told through Sandra's point of view, but sometimes it's just strange. She says she's raped, but tells the story that she consented. She's so beautiful and is better than other people through the rest of the book, especially the end.
