This book is a holiday book about Santa Claus. The illustrations set the tone for the fun loving sweet book and the childlike depiction of Mr. Claus. Santa tries out every toy and works around the clock all year to make sure each toy is right for each child. The book also explains how Santa knows what each child likes and doesn't like even if he has never met them. This is an adorable book with lots of charm.

The book ¿Santa Claus The Worlds Number One Toy Expert¿ is a great book. It is a book about Santa being a #1 toy expert. His first job is to go to places where kids ask him what they want like the mall. Some kids are shy, some are loud, some whisper, and some don¿t even bother. When Santa¿s done with that job he goes to job #2. His 2nd job is for him make toys. He tests all of the toys. Some of the toys aren¿t right so then he fixes them. After that he wraps everything. Then he puts the wrong toys in the wrong box then he takes hem out and fixes them. After that he is so tired. But then when he¿s done with delivering the gifts he opens the gift he got for himself. MMMM I wonder what it is. SO THIS IS WHAT U DO U HAVE TO DO READ IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Santa Claus works hard to bring just the right gift to each child. Marla Frazee is a very talented illustrator (see her illustrations for The Seven Silly Eaters, also a great read/read-aloud), and the pictures here are clear and full of enjoyable details. Santa Claus is pictured sucking a candy cane in the corner of his mouth (instead of the traditional pipe) and is shown in all states of preparation of the thousands of toys he must test, choose, prepare, and deliver. According to the author, he chooses right about 99.9% of the time. But even the last picture, of a boy looking puzzled and a bit disappointed by the delivery of a box of identical balls, is resolved on the back cover as he happily juggles them. The idea is that even if Santa doesn't deliver what you expect, chances are it will be something you will realize is just right for you.
