Overview

Santa's Executive by Carrie Ann Ryan

Justin Cooper wasn't always the straight-laced Holiday Elementary School principal. In his youth, he broke all the rules and enjoyed being the bad Cooper brother. One Christmas Eve night he got a little too rowdy and things changed forever. Now the consequences of that fateful night have come back in full force and the myths of Christmas might be more real than he thought.
Rina Brewer is one of Santa's elves. Not the tiny cute little toy maker, but the sexy, petite, energy filled bombshell kind. She's come to Holiday to aid Justin in his new role as Santa's executive, but as soon as she sees the sexy ex-bad boy, she realizes the job may be more than she bargained for.
As they work together to make this Christmas one to remember, an old foe has come to town to make sure that this holiday is the coldest yet.
Warning: Contains a perky elf who dreams of something more, a Christmas myth who may be a baddie, and a sexy ex-bad boy who craves Christmas cookies...and a certain perky blonde.

What a stinkin' fun holiday story. I love to read Christmas stories and this one was so very different from the others I have read. The idea of Justin being Santa's Executive was fascinating and having his love be an elf added all sorts of whimsy. Of course there are the cookies. You can not have someone working for Santa who does not love cookies. Justin was my favorite brother, so that only made this book all the more magical. Ok so here are the things I am sure you want to know: Yes, Carrie Ann made sure to include the heat. No the elf is not a little itty bitty teeny tiny creature. She is humanesque. Yes, there is a big bad and boy is he bad. Yes, Justin is just as swoon worthy as you imagined he would be in book one. No, you do not need to read book one to get full enjoyment out of this book. Yes, book one is worth reading either which way. Yes, you should be 18 before you read this. No, it is fine to read this book even if it is July. There is no "It must be Christmas Time" rule.

Santa’s Executive (Holiday Montana Book 2) By Carrie Ann Ryan ARC for review. My thoughts: Who wouldn’t wanna be one of Santa’s Executives? Justin Cooper is a former Holiday bad boy. He is now the respected principle of the Holiday Elementary School who happens to love Christmas cookies. Rina Brewer goes to Holiday looking for Justin. He has a job to do and he doesn’t even know it. Things heat up when Justin and Rina get together and it isn’t just from the cookies baking. I really liked this book and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great romance involving cookies.

This is book 2 in the Holiday, Montana series. It covers high school principal Justin Cooper and Rina Brewer-one of Santa's elves! Justin is a reformed bad boy who loves dealing with kids on a daily basis. He just never realized he was an executive for Santa! Rina goes to try to help him learn his job and is attracted to him even though she knows it's wrong. And then you throw the bad guy in there! I loved it! There were twists and turns and just a different take on the whole myth of Santa Clause! And Rina is just funny and sweet, she made me laugh so much! Great read!

RATING 3.5 STARS Santa’s Executive is book two in the Holiday, Montana series by Carrie Ann Ryan. This is the first book I have read in this series and it was fine to start with book two. I chose this book to add to my Christmas line up because it sounded like a really different sort of paranormal romance Christmas book. In that respect, it really was. As much as I love my paranormal romance, though, for some reason I couldn’t get into it as much as I wanted to. The characters were sweet but I guess I just didn’t get the warm and fuzzies like I wanted to. So I think that is just my own problem. Justin Cooper is a thirty four year old elementary school principal. He was drawn to teaching at an early age and made the easy transition into administration. He loves working with children. Lately he has been feeling out of sorts, like something is building inside of him. Rina Brewer is an elf that lives in the North Pole. She is a list checker, keeping data, old and new, straight. Her office is down in the basement at the North Pole. But she’s not happy at all and wants more. Then she runs across Justin’s file and realizes that no one has taken his case so they could explain to him what is happening to him. So she takes it upon herself to travel to Holiday, Montana and to become Justin’s assistant Rina and Justin’s reaction to each other is surprisingly strong and puzzling. Neither can understand it. But Rina is steadfast that she must keep thing professional between.them. She has to prove to Santa that she can do more than be a list maker. “Oh no, no, no, no. This couldn’t be happening. The first man to make her think dirty, dirty thoughts that included a lot of mistletoe and red stockings was the man she’d come here to help. This was not going to end well.” As Rina begins to train Justin and teach him about his special ability and the role he is destined to play, the connection between them grows stronger. But this isn’t really Rina’s job. She left the North Pole to do this on her own. Can she allow herself to fall for Justin and then have to leave him? Could her heart take it? “Why did he want this woman? Yes, she was beautiful and kind, but he’d never wanted to think about a home with another woman. What was it about Rina, and why was it moving so fast?” Of course we have to have an evil villain. Jack Frost turns up in Holiday with a plan of his own. And Jack is very strong. He is second to none other than Santa himself. But there is more than ice in Jack’s eyes, it looks more like pure evil. This was a short, sweet and sexy Christmas romance but it didn’t hold my attention as much as it should have. Still, I’m glad I read it. From now on when ever I see a room full of happy children I will wonder if they are just happy, or maybe if there might be a little bit of Christmas magic at work from one of Santa’s Executives.

Carrie Ann has a gift for making a Christmas story smell, feel and sound like Christmas. The inhabitants of Holiday Montana have been given unique paranormal traits and Justin Cooper is no different. He is one of Santa's executives and has no idea of this fact until Rina Brewer one of Santa's elves from the North Pole shows up at his door. This is a book that is a charming read during the holiday festivities or any other time you are needing a shot of holiday goodness. Highly recommended.

Title: Santa's Executive - Holiday Montana Book 2 Author: Carrie Ann Ryan Publisher: Fated Desires Publishing Published: 11-29-2013 ISBN: 1623220157 E-Book ASIN:B00AG3A0GU Pages: 198 Genre: Romance Tags: Paranormal, Holiday, Myths, Magic Justin Cooper, former town bad boy, is the respected principal of the local elementary school and owner of the small town of Holiday, Montana's General Store. He has a busy life and no time to put up with giggling women. All he wants is some peace and quiet. Oh yeah and lots of sugar cookies. He loves his brothers and can't understand why he wants to punch them when they show up unannounced and begin eating his sugar cookies. His life is about to become even more intense when Rina Brewer calls him to remind him of his duties as a Santa Executive. Thinking it a prank call Justin Hangs up on her. Rina doesn't understand how Justin fell through the cracks, but as she is unhappy in her job she decides to go on a road trip and bring Justin up to speed. By the way did I mention that Rina is an elf and uses a snow globe to travel to Holiday? With only a month to teach Justin all he needs to know she knows she has no time to waste. Explaining to Justin and his family how Holiday got its name and explaining that elves are not the only magical creatures to be drawn to this special town and trying to thwart her immediate boss who is out to make sure she fails Rina begins to feel she may have taken on more than she can handle. Then Santa calls looking for his missing elf.... Funny with a touch of drama with a hole lot of romance, Santa's Executive will keep you immersed in the book to the exclusion of everything else going on around you. And why not you should read the descriptions of the Cooper brothers. I started the Holiday, Montana series with Charmed Spirits and could not wait to read the next book in the series. This could be enjoyed by itself, but is so much better read in order of the series. Brief backgrounds are given to explain the scenes from book 1, but you get a greater appreciation if you read this series in order. Look for Book 3 Finding Abigail, it is now available for reading and you will not want to leave Holiday any time soon. Carrie Ann Ryan has built an wonderful town, not perfect, but charming and you will want to visit it often.

I enjoyed reading Justin's story. Justin had no clue he was Santa's executive until Rina, an elf, calls him to give him an update. Things really get interesting when Rina goes to Holiday to train Justin.

Such a fun and sexy twist in this amazing holiday tale! This is the second book in this series and I loved it. You just never know what's going to happen in Holiday, Montana. Another one of those super sexy Cooper brothers, Justin, and an elf named Rina. Can you guess where her erogenous zone was? You'll have to read the book to find out!!! This series just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait to read the next book :)
