Rudi, a workaholic divorced father of a 7 year old daughter and owner of the resort has long sense lost any joy in Christmas. His daughter already knows the truth about Santa and neither have much interest in being at the resort. His primary plan is to evaluate the resort before he puts it on the market. Then Eva and Oscar move into the cabin next door and they begin to spend time with Rudi and Isabel. They all start to have fun. Rudi and Eva are attracted to each other instantly and find themselves spending time together with and without the children. The story morphs into a romance. With their time together limited they wonder if it’s just a sexual attraction or could they make a long distance relationship work This was a first read for me from the Author and I loved it . a

Tus is not a cliffhanger. Serenity Woods wrote a complete romance in 142 pages. I enjoyed the unusual setting for a romance story of two single parents. Rudi was the son of an unsentimental businessman. His father built the lodge to take advantage of the financial profits available by touting Christmas to families. Since his divorce from Vanessa, he had allowed Isabella to be raised as his ex-wife wanted or as his mother deemed as right. So when Rudi had decided to bring his daughter with him as a cover, to allow him to evaluate the minetary worth of the property before putting it up for sale, he did not know how to get through to Isabella. Eva was a young widow who brought her son, Oscar, to celebrate their second Christmas without his father. At three, Oscar really didn't remember his father who died 18 months ago. Rudi and Eva not only shared the wall that split their duplex, they shared the asexual lifestyle since they embarked into life without a partner. Now that fate had placed them next door to each other, could this mother of an apparently indulged boy know what to do with a man whose daughter was as self disciplined as a mature adult? I found the editing to be better that other books I've read recently. I am recommending this book!!!

Compared to other books this wasn't as focused on the couple's looks, but the struggle of dealing with their past marriages and moving on.

Rudi and Eva meet at Santa's Secret Village in Finland at Christmas time. Eva's a young widow with a rambunctious three year old boy, Oscar. Rudi is a disillusioned businessman with a seven year old daughter, Isabelle. Coincidentally, he owns the Village, but is there for an assessment rather than fun. Since their cabins ajoin the families get to know one another taking part in the activities offered together. The romance between Eva and Rudi blossoms quickly, but they are mindful of the children and that it might be just the atmosphere that's the village's charm. Isabelle helps Oscar during activities and he helps her feel more comfortable with the other children. But all good things must come to an end, don't they? Both families are leaving the day after Christmas. Rudi back to Helsinki and Eva to England. A lovely story told with little profanity and non-graphic sex scenes it was a pleasure to read. The characters were well done and even the ones I disliked at first were redeemed in my eyes. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

A steamy Christmas story set in Finnish Lapland. Eva, a young widow and her three year old son, Oscar are spending the Christmas holidays in Santa’s Secret Village. She worries that being a single Mum with lots of families around maybe lonely. She doesn’t expect to be living next door to hunky Viking, Rudi and his seven year old daughter Isabel. Will this just be a holiday romance? Lovely feel good story with a delightful epilogue. I adored Oscar and Isabel.

Santa’s Secret Village is a family vacation resort in Finland. After inheriting it, Rudi wants to go there to check it out so that he can decide whether to sell it or not. Thinking the best time to get a good impression of the place would be at Christmas time, he and his 7-year-old daughter, Isabel, went to the Village over the Christmas holidays. Neither believes in Santa so they don’t expect to particularly enjoy their time there. But when they meet Eva and her 3-year-old son, Oscar, their views on Christmas change. They soon get caught up in Christmas magic and have a wonderful time. This is an enjoyable story about bringing families together and it makes you believe in the magic of Christmas. The characters interact with each other in such positive ways that you just love them all. But the heat between Rudi and Eva adds a new dimension to the story. There are steamy sex scenes that are descriptive but not erotic. Their relationship was not just sex but better-rounded with activities with their children included. If you like steamy Christmas romances with magic thrown in, you will enjoy this book.

Santa’s Secret by Serenity Woods Christmas Wishes #1 Is anyone ever too old for magic at Christmas? Well, if you think you are then pick up this book up and find out you are wrong! What is more magical than a Christmas village in Finland with everything a child and parent might need to make memories that will last a lifetime! Eva and her son Oscar are at Santa’s Village for a few days to experience a joyful Christmas. At three Oscar knows what he wants and hopes to get it. He is a bit of a terror but oh so sweet and Eva a wonderful warm and caring single mom and widow. When Eva sees Rudi on the duplex porch when she arrives she is very aware of just how gorgeous he is. Rudi is there with his very mature perfectly behaved seven year old daughter, Isabel. Rudi’s mother hopes this trip to Santa’s Village will provide her son and granddaughter the opportunity to reconnect that they desperately need. The two families spend time and have fun together BUT this is just a short trip so how can there be more than a fling at best? Well, with the spirit of Christmas in the air and magic at hand there just might be a HEA for everyone. I loved this story! I have a strong feeling you will, too! Thank you to the author for the copy of this novella – this is my honest review. 5 Stars

What a beautiful story, so appropriate for the holiday season or any time of the year! I'm learning so much about the people and customs of another country by reading Serenity Woods' novels. The stories and plots are wonderful and well written. LA-TXN

Perfect for the holiday season. I loved it

Could have been a short novella. Main female character not interesting or sympathetic. Using the f word does not compensate for lack of plot throughout. A couple of nice moments in an overly drawn out novel.

Mixing in the traditions and feel of the holiday with a nice mix of traditions, heart, hope, love and that particular flavor that comes from children, Serenity Woods has hit every note in this wonderful little holiday romance. Santa’s Secret Village Resort in Lapland, Finland is the setting for this story, and Eva and her three year old son Oscar are there to bring him a good and happy memory.  Widowed just over a year before the story begins, Eva still isn’t ‘feeling’ the holidays, but wants Oscar to find the joy and fun in the holiday.  Rudi is the resort owner, and he and his seven year old daughter Isabel are going through the motions.  A divorce and a lack of ‘spirit’ have him contemplating selling the resort and looking for a new venture.  Eva and Oscar are assigned to the cabin next to Rudi and Isabel, and instantly the two adults are intrigued.  When the kids get along as well, and Isabel is drawn into the wonder of Christmas from the young Oscar, her lack of belief in “Santa” begins to waver.  Far from being shuffled off and minor players in the story, these two children help their parents to believe in possibilities, and take a chance on their own relationship.  And what a whirlwind that relationship is: beautifully developed and given the right amount of hesitancy on both Rudi and Eva’s parts, their acknowledgement of the building attraction and allowing themselves to enjoy that attraction spiced up the story with some heat, yet never at the expense of the heart.  Sierra Donovan created a smooth-reading, emotionally intriguing story with plenty of heart and just enough heat. A lovely holiday romance!  I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
