I loved Lord Savage but this sequel unfortunately was not as good.

Review: There was such a long time between the first book in this trilogy and this book, that I had to go back and peruse the first one again. I hope the wait until book three isn't that long. This book like the first is full of scorching hot sex. So much so that Evelyn kind of loses herself and does things that could ruin her reputation. Especially, when Savage keeps telling her that it is only for 7 days and then they will be going their own way. I kind of hated Savage, he is not a very sympathetic character and comes across as very selfish in a lot of ways. Eve has her moments when I think she is going to get a back bone and she does a couple of times and then Savage talks her into staying or forgetting about what upset her. Even though the characters are not my favorite, I could not put the story down, I had to see what would happen next and for those wickedly good sexy scenes. Again, I hope there is not a huge lag time between this story and the ending of the trilogy. 3.5 Stars *Received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

Enjoyably Decadent Savage Nights is the second book in the Savage trilogy, and the continuation of Savage and Evelyn Hart’s story. In Lord Savage, the first book, Savage introduces Evelyn into a world of sexual awakening, tutoring her and her body in the ways of pleasure. The week playing the “Game” at Lord and Lady Carleigh’s country house party ends, and rather than give Evelyn up to other members of the party, he secrets her away to his London townhouse to further her sensual lessons for another seven days. To Evelyn’s delight, and her growing thirst for Savage, she can no longer deny that her submissive cravings and needs match that of Lord Savage’s brand of decadent desires. Eve’s submission to his sexual domination is her true release from a past life in a loveless marriage, rife in suffocating rules and loneliness. As they continue playing the “Game of Protector and Innocent” in town, Savage contrives discreet challenges for Eve to test her faith in the bond of submissive and Dom. Thus proving to Savage her trust in him to protect her. What they didn’t expect was the trouble that follows them from the house party in the unsavory Lord Blackledge. His obsession over Eve is distasteful and cruel. Savage Nights is written in the same vein as the first book, lushly descriptive, engaging narrative, and full of sizzling sex scenes between Savage and Eve. I found more drama and angst in this installment. Well, more like, growing frustration for Evelyn as this story is written in her POV. Through her words, you share in her emotional anguish and self doubt. I mean, she is a strong, independent heroine, but she gives up control to Savage. Eve’s willing submission to him brings rewards of sexual bliss beyond her imagination, truly ruining her for any other man. She consoles her heart and soul to the fact she will emerge from her lessons as a worldly woman who has truly tasted true passion though her time with Savage is temporary. With Savage’s behavior being a little cryptic at times, and him running hot and cold, it even made me a bit dizzy. He makes Eve feel desirable and cherished even to the point of possessiveness, but he makes no promise at anything beyond sexual diversion and pleasure. He is truly an enigma, and I dislike him enough to swat him on his head. Yes, he’s broken, he has issues from his past, but I hope we get a reveal soon in the next book and get some relief from all the angst. My inner romance girl is frustrated and thinks poor Eve is getting strung along. Also, in this story we are introduced to Savage’s son, Lawton. He is every bit his father, Evelyn and he get along famously, but there is a twist at the end I did not see coming. I think it’s going to be a wild ride in the next book. And hopefully, Blackledge will be dealt with as he’s become the unrelenting and annoying villain. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. Nicely done, Ms Gabriel.
