I am a massive fan of Fiona Lowe's previous book set in Wisconsin, Boomerang Bride. When I heard there were more books of a similar vein on the way, I made some very happy book noise. This was such a good book. I love that it has a really unique American setting - not a lot of romance novels are set in Wisconsin. However, as with BB, there was an awesomely cheeky Australian vibe to this book that I just loved. Saved by the Bride has such a wonderful humour and sense of fun about it. I loved Annika and Finn as a couple, they were such a gorgeous match. Annika was klutzy and prone to bizarre accidents (getting a black eye from a rogue wedding bouquet, anyone?), but Ms Lowe has managed to make her a strong, capable woman and not a ditz. Finn had that stubborn, arrogant business guy vibe going on, but you just knew there was a guy who was going to fall HARD when he found the one. One thing I really loved was that they didn't simply wallpaper over any issues that stood in the way of their HEA - each needed the time it took to discover themselves that little bit more before taking that next step. The secondary stories that are woven into Saved by the Bride add to and enrich the story of Annika and Finn. The jail scene cracked me up - only in a small town could something like that happen! Whitetail is like so many other towns everywhere, just looking for that little kickstart to bring the town back to life. It's a place you wouldn't mind visiting and I, for one, can't wait to go back and read more about the adventures of Whitetail's townspeople. Fiona Lowe, you have created a couple, and a town, that you just can't help but cheer for.My rating: 5 out of 5 Note: I was provided with an advanced reader copy of this book by Carina Press via NetGalley in return for an honest review

Saved By the Bride is the first book in Ms. Lowe's new series, Wedding Fever, and is the first title I've had the chance to read by Ms. Lowe, but it won't be my last. Annika is an underemployed artist and calligrapher in the town of Whitetail, Wisconsin, and she is also now its acting mayor.  The town's hit a bit of an economic downturn, and many of her friends and fellow residents are looking to her to help put Whitetail on the map as THE wedding destination to book.  Part of that plan is to get a hold of Mr. Callahan, a big business owner with some investments in Whitetail. Easier said than done--her efforts to create a face-to-face actually land Annika in jail.  And Finn Callahan, son of the esteemed Mr. Callahan, while suitably impressed with Annika's lovely legs, is less readily swayed by her business proposition. Ms. Lowe's created a cast of well-rounded and likable characters in Saved By the Bride.  They're pleasingly three-dimensional and their quirks and emotions feel very real.  Annika and Finn each struggle with their own issues on their way to a happy ending, and are well supported by a whole host of secondary characters. I also really enjoyed the small-town and family feel of Saved By the Bride.  I definitely look forward to visiting again as the series continues!  A very lovely introduction to this contemporary author--I'll be picking up her backlist and can't wait to read her future releases.

Saved By the Bride was a wonderful sweet romantic tale, full of wonderful characters and beautiful places. I felt as if I was there, on the island with Annika and Finn and the rest of the family. I fell in love with the entire Callahan family. It was fun to watch them all move towards their futures as they worked through the past. I enjoyed watching Annika and Finn fall in love, and work through their own personal struggles to come together in the end. I love the town discovered through this first book, and am looking forward to learning more about it through the rest of the series.

I highly recommend this book and plan to read the next two books in the Wedding Fever Triology!! Annika Jacobson is a beautiful, down on her luck, clumsy woman who lives in small town Whitetail, Wisconsin. She is an out of work artist who has been doing anything she can to avoid her painting but she has been trying to make a living with her calligraphy business. Everyone in this town has felt the economical slump of a town without jobs. Even the mayor leaves due to the economy so Anni accepts the non-paying job of acting mayor, until elections. She loves this town and the way it is like one big family, since her family has moved away, she is determined to protect the people of this town. Finn Callahan is a wealthy, confident, gorgeous, business minded man, whose family owns a cabin right outside of Whitetail. He does not enjoy spending time with his family, he has made it a point to spend as little time with them as possible. Except, for the fact that he is second in control, to his father, of the family business. When Anni and Finn meet, it is fireworks and undeniable desire from the beginning. Finn offers Anni a paying summer job as his P.A. while giving her the opportunity to help the town pursue a Whitetail Weddings business. The town is full of promise and excitement to have the chance to create jobs by attracting brides-to-be to the small town and its wonders to have their dream weddings. Anni and Finn have nothing but heat and desire between them, making it difficult to be around each other, much less get any work done. They have made an agreement and now are up for anything for the summer...How will they keep their hearts protected? This is a well written book that is full of everything a good contemporary romance novel needs. It has humor, a past to be revealed, emotion, desire, beautiful imagery, sexy characters, family, disagreements, and very sexy and lustful love scenes. This is a beautiful romance story that will keep your attention. It is a great read without being predictable and the characters are very likable. The story line is creative and well thought out. I think everyone who reads this book will want to continue the trilogy because you won't want the story to end!!

When small town clutz Annika gets nominated as acting Mayor of Whitetail she can't seem to say no and finds herself quickly in over her head when she tries all she can to save her town and attract new business and jobs. It doesn't help that she can fall over on flat ground, or that the biggest business target for Whitetail just happens to be the very hot Finn Callahan. But while Annika does all she can to help the town attract a new company and hide herself away from her own heartache the town has other ideas. The locals are convinced they can become the a Wedding Destination town and that means attracting Finn's sister Bridie who is trying to create the perfect wedding to break the family track record. Throw in some crazy family dynamics, simmering tension between Annika and Finn - who is convinced he's never falling in love and you have a delightful story that will have you laughing, smiling and cheering for Annika (and if your clumsy like me, rubbing your knees in sympathy). Looking forward to the next instalment. And if you haven't read Fiona's book Boomerang Bride do yourself a favour and check it out!
