I've had this book and series on my wishlist for quite a while now, having heard nothing but good things about said series I was excited to finally have a chance to pick it up and I'm happy to say that I wasn't disappointed! The concept that was brought to life to make this book into the exciting and addictively readable story that it is, was so well thought out and executed that it was a no-brainer that I would love it. At the age if eighteen it is a requirement that everyone gets tested for their blood type which will then result in blood donations to be given every month to the Vampire Royal Family who rules over the Noire region. It's through this test that Claire is found to have a rare blood type, so rare and pure that the King and Queen want Claire to join them as their Princess after being turned into a vampire herself. But while she comes to care for her new 'parents' and potential vampire boyfriend Dmitry, not everyone is happy that she was picked to eventually rule the region and they will stop at nothing to make sure that it doesn't come to pass. To protect her she is bonded to a blood mate Arrick (a personal bodyguard of sorts), which will have all the Claire/Dmitry fans headed for a love triangle when Claire finds herself drawn and attracted to Arrick and he to her. But get set for a big twist at the end which was very well done, totally unexpected and which will have you highly anticipating the next book. A very impressive series debut that will have you flipping through the pages to reach the shocking ending. A big two thumbs up!

Truely Unique Vampire Story! I’m not big into the vampire scene. Ok, I liked the Twilight books. Hell, I wanted my own Edward. I read all the books before I went and saw the first movie because I wanted to see what all the hype was. Since that series though, I haven’t been able to get into any type of vampire books. I read Vampire Academy after so many people told me how good it was, and it just didn’t do much for me. Now you’re probably wondering why I read Savor. Here’s my honest answer. I wanted to participate in the blog tour but I hadn’t read any of the books, and I told the tour organizer that. She asked me to read the first book and I said, why not. For further honesty, I never really checked what the books were about, just knew the covers looked good and I know a lot of people were into this kind of series. Night One: I started reading. First thought was ugh, vampires. Second thought, hmmm, interesting, different take on the whole vampire stories. Third thought, damn, I can’t put this book down! Finally, an original story of modern day vampires, turning into a vampire, selection, etc. Megan Duncan, I could kiss you! Vampires are reigning over the different regions. Humans, 18 and over are donating their blood willingly and happily to the blood banks that provided the blood to the vampires. This, in turn, keeping the vampires from having to go back to the savage ways of feeding on the innocent and protecting the truce between humans and vampires. The vampires are the government who manage the laws and protect all. Claire is found to have pure blood. She has been chosen to be the King and Queen’s daughter, and will be turned into a vampire to than become their successor. Upon arriving to the palace, she makes a quick friend with another member of the royal family, makes enemies from those that she has now taken out of the succession, and finds herself feeling quite overwhelmed. Turning into a vampire has a unique twist and the after effects are a delight to all. But all is not well in the palace. There is romance but there is also danger and a stranger who has been watching from afar becomes a hero who also is the only one who she finds is brutally honest with her. The ending answers some lingering questions that would nag at me once in a while and the story just explodes into a whole new dimension. The story moved along at a wonderful pace. Not too fast and not too slow. The details woven into the story complemented the scenes. The only things that felt a little off were some questions you would think Claire would have asked and a bit of the dialogue was flat. Other than that, I found this story to be a wonderful beginning to the series and I can’t wait to read the rest!

Vampires are everywhere these days- in books, on tv, in the movies-so much so, that for a paranormal novel about vampires to standout amongst its peers it must truly be fresh, original, and captivating. Megan Duncan's Savor is all these things. Savor is an edgy, sexy, fast paced, exceptionally well written vampire novel. Savor starts off a bit slow in the first two chapters, but quickly finds its pace and flow, and by the 5th chapter I found myself completely engrossed in Duncan's words. Duncan has created a fresh twist on the world of vampires and filled that world with entertaining characters, a captivating storyline and some complicated, fun romance. The last few chapters through to the end left me breathless. Duncan ends the book with plenty of surprising twists and turns and questions that have me very excited and anxious for the next book in the Warm Delicacy Series. Overall, I found Savor to be quite the delectable read and I think anyone who is looking for a unique vampire paranormal-romance will want to take a bite outta this book!

You know you are really into a new book/series/author when you go and buy the next book before you even finish reading the first one. I loved this book. It sucked me in from the first chapter, no struggling to get into this read to review book here. There was some things that I found peculiar like the fact the Claire's birth mother would let her go so easily, but with what you discover at the end of the book maybe it makes sense. This is a very interesting world Ms. Duncan has created and I look forward to learning more about this society where Vampires rule and live in the open. I really liked Claire, she makes a decision and sticks to it, she is open to learning and fulfilling her new role in society. Yet she remains true to her emotions and self as she tries to figure out how to fit in, I really liked her strength. I also liked her new friend Robin, who I am happy now has a friend and ally in the castle. I also like Dmitry, who is charming and funny. Arrick is also someone I look forward to getting to know better. For now I'm torn as to which team I am on, but I think I'm leaning towards Arrick. Ms. Duncan has done an excellent job of creating a cast of characters and an intriguing new world to explore. I really can't wait to read more. Well done!

Really addictive and different! From the moment I started I couldnt stop! I loved Megan Duncans style of writing! Vampires coexist with humans! Humans make blood donations each month to live peacefully with the Royal Vampire Family! I loved the Characters! Claire wakes up on her 18th birthday to make her 1st donation and get her blood card! Only to become the Vampire Princess!! This story is exciting and leaves you wanting more! You get to meet many different characters some you love some you hate! All in all..I loved this book. Honestly I was hooked.. desperate to know what would happen to next. Also there was a massive twist at the end! One I honestly did not see coming. I will end with I NEED book two! I HAVE to know what happens next!!

WOW, I loved how original Megan Duncan's Young Adult Paranormal Vampire story was! Reading this genre can get VERY repetitive, but this one really stands out! Claire, is such a likable character. I really felt like she was well developed and easy to relate to and care for as a reader. The Vampires are not in hiding in this book, they are actually the rulers! They rule over the humans without the humans even ever have seen them. They are still very reculsive to their own kind, but just the fact that they are in power with everyone knowing is so different. Claire's journey in this story is great. I love that she isn't going to take anyone's crap. She really does a fantastic job of standing up for herself. There are definite twists and revelations in this one that will leave you wanting to pick up the next book right away! There is not a ton of romance, more the prospect for it in the future, which I was fine with! You might also like:

I recently discovered Megan Duncan through Penelope Fletcher. I have not read any of Duncan's other books, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The concept is interesting. There is a vampire family that rules over humans. The family does not force the humans to donate their blood, but it is a common practice in this region. Claire becomes the vampires' adoptive daughter, and everything goes wrong. The humans attack the vampires, the vampires attack the vampires. Claire finds out she is a princess and her human mother wasn't her real mother. Her blood mate who is not a vampire, but human, and stronger than vampires was betrothed to Claire as a baby. There is a lot of stuff going on in this story, but somehow Duncan manages to blend it all together rather nicely. Some things are predictable, but it definitely ends with a bang, literally. I could not wait for Indulge when I finished this book.

Amongst dozens of vampire based Young Adult novels there is always one in a dozen that stands out amongst them. This is one in that dozen that stands out the most with its bright maroon/red cover and the amazing mix of dystopian, modernization, monarchy and vampires. In the beginning we meet our main character Claire as she gets ready for her issuing of her Donor ID now that she's 18. In this world Megan created for us, we all each live in different regions wherein a vampire King reins amongst the humans. But in this region instead of brutally killing humans for blood like in the dark ages, humans donate their blood to the system monthly for the vampires. This clearly gives the region a sense of peace between humans and vampires. As Claire's blood goes through testing before she gets her official Donor ID, the blood is tested and is concerned one of the purest of blood seen amongst the humans for years. And this catches the eyes of the King and the royal family. And they want Claire to be heir of their throne and their new daughter and Princess. We follow Claire as she moves into the home of her new family and the process between her humanity all the way to her coronation and further. Claire holds a stern character that I liked a lot and immediately clicked with her character. She wasn't annoying or overly overwhelming. She was just the kind of teen I love to read about. Despite the fact that she had to leave her home and away from her friends and mom for perhaps forever, she rather took it well. If I was thrown in that situation I wouldn't be able to handle leaving my family that way. The secondary characters were all easily liked. Especially Robin with her enthusiasm and cheerfulness I liked her immediately. But of course, there are those characters that you can¿t help but loathe with their antagonist complex and such. Grr¿s at them! Then out of nowhere Megan teases us with a shadowy hot figure in the distance that Claire can¿t see but feels a strong bond for. Then Megan had to add in the whole whispering hotness that he is. And when we¿ve finally met him she has to end the book! Of course, it was all before the fighting bits and the explosion which I found exciting but I won¿t go further into. Megan Duncan wrote such a beautifully written novel with few details and still managing to get the message out there. The storyline, love and bonds were realistic and new. An unputdownable read filled with love, family, and pure guardian hotness that annoyed me that it had to end. I look forward to Indulge!

Let me first start by saying I read Megan's book, Released a while back and did a review on it so when she contacting me to read her newest book, Savor - I was thrilled to be able to read another one of her books and Savor was all that I hoped it would be and more! I loved the whole idea of the beginning of the book. Where in the world, humans know about Vampires and respect them. Once a human turns 18 years of age they are required to donate blood at a local blood bank to help provide food for vampire families. When Claire the main character has to go and do her part the day after her 18th Birthday and donate blood, she soon comes to find out that her blood is special: perfect! The Vampire Royal family invites Claire to come to there home and will make her a offer that she will not be able to refuse. Claire arrives at the home of the Royal family where she meets the King and Queen who tell her what her blood being perfect will come to mean. They want her to become a Vampires but also their Daughter. Claire makes the hard choice to leave her old live (her Mom and best friends) behind and begin a new as a Royal Vampire. Although Claire seemed eager to leave her old life and become a Vampire she later has many questions about her new life only to meet some new friends, who are also Vampire's living with her. Although some of the Vampires she meets are not as they seem, but very evil. Seems like not everyone in the Vampires home is happy with the choice that was made to have Claire become a Vampire Daughter to the King and Queen. On the night of Claire's "Coming out Party" - A dance to celebrate her joining the Vampire family the humans are far from pleased and try to ruin the ball. Now a decision will be made to find Claire a "blood-mate" to keep her protected from Humans and Vampires as well. This one decision will turn Claire's world around - Once she learns who he is and who he has come to protect Claire from. The ending will leave you hungry for more.... Yes, Megan Duncan has done it again! Savor is a sensational read! This book will so not disappoint the reader but will leave you hugging the book once you are done wanting more. I so enjoyed Claire's character as well as all of the others, well not all. I did not like Ana one bit - She was always a royal pain in the a**. Other than that each character throughout the book was very entertaining to read about. The story held my attention throughout the book with little or no gaps of being slow or dull. Savor was well written and I could perfectly imagine the story in my head as it played out. Although I believe Vampires book are now coming out at a overwhelming amount per year. I found Savor to have a fresh and unique story-line that was very enjoyable. A very fun, fast read and I loved the ending!! I cannot wait to find out what happens next. I would very much recommend the book to YA-Adults - And to anyone who loves Vampires, Romance, and a page-turning Paranormal Work of Art - SAVOR!!!
