Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America by Jesse Lee Peterson, Jesse Lee Peterson

In this provocative book, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, the most outspoken critic of the civil-rights establishment in America today, lays bare its corrupt leadership, courageously taking aim at the bigest names?Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, among others?claiming they are nothing more than scam artists profiting off the hatred and disorder they foster in the black community. Peterson insists it's time to throw off the oppression of the established black leadership and stand for the American ideals of freedom, personal responsibility, free enterprise, and moral principle.

I applaud this author having the courage to write this book. I wonder why alot retailers don't even carry this publication? I think if it were advertised more and available, it would touch more lives. I work with very sick/premature newborns and the majority of the time, mothers are very young and unmarried. They cannot take care of themselves, much less special needs children. They are living off welfare and act entitled, as if they were owed something by the world. The young 'men' that father these children are often proud that they have several children by different mothers, yet support none of them- financially or emotionally. I am afraid, if things do not change, that we will be raising a generation that is entirely supported by welfare. Not to mention, the following generations will be morally bankrupt. Isn't that why Rome fell?

I am a young Black male'i said Black not african american'and as much as i agree that there are no true black leaders, there is a real disconnect going on in the book. I can appreciate his position but to totally discredit what these people have done for the black community is downright wrong. Jesse is a pawn for the conservative movement to keep black people seperated, as soon as we stop the infighting we can finally begin to truly heal.

'Scam' is a eye opening look at America's black leadership in an unflenching, and amazingly unflattering way. It strips away the feelings of victimhood and instead shows the reader how destructive their 'so-called' leaders have been. Black leadership in this country has led blacks down the road to government dependancy and facilitated the destruction of the black family unit. This is must reading for all black students, and for that matter all students, who think their leaders really care about them. A shocking and sincere book.

I am proud of what Jesse Lee Patterson did and I will buy the book. I believe that Jesse Lee will be the voice for the future of Black America because he is real and not a phony like the Black and White Liberals that exists in our society today. Jesse Lee needs to continue tell the truth even if it cost him everything. I will support Jesse Lee in his future endeavors and hope that he write another book like Scam. I hope that the next one will expose White Liberal lies that has exploited Black America for too long, and I will buy that book also.

I decided to read this book, keeping an open mind. I purchased it on a Friday and was done by Sunday morning with it. Just couldn't put it down. The truth was really revealed about these so called 'black leaders'. As a black woman, I've never considered these folks my leaders, since my leader is Jesus Christ. This man DARED to tell the truth about Jackson, Farrakhan etal and it's time for African Americans to wake up and see that these folks are charletans with their racist rhetoric. Peterson dared to tell the truth and there is a serious problem with black men and black women in relationships. Our children have no morals because the parents are immoral. And look at these so-called leaders...a bunch of lying hypocrites, always blaming 'the white man' for their failures.I'm glad somebody was brave enough to nakedly expose these people for who they really are...the REAL oppressors of the black race.

This is one the most important books that I have ever read. Mr Peterson shines the light of truth into the dark closet of our so called leaders. We must...if we want our race to survive, see our so called leaders for what they are. Hate Hustlers! The evidence is there for us to see... We only have to open our eyes.

i came across this book in the back of the local bookstore. Though it is a new release, there was no fanfare or impressive display. But the title caught my eye and I read through it. It is the other side of the story-from the inside. Not the angle that we are usually fed from the press about race in america. And it was surprisingly refreshing and not a little scary. I highly recommend reading this book.
