The eponymous debut from Scar the Martyr, the hard-hitting metal outfit from Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, who contributes guitar and bass, as well as drums, with lead guitarists Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour), keyboard player Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), and vocalist Henry Derek, was recorded with Rhys Fulbar (Fear Factory, Front Line Assembly, Rob Zombie) at Sound Farm Studios in Des Moines, Iowa. A noisy, hook-filled, sonic maelstrom that falls somewhere between Neurosis, Faith No More, and Alice in Chains, the 14-track, Roadrunner Records-issued album hit the streets in 2013.
