I have to say Scarves, Shrugs & Shawls: 22 Knitted Designs with Their Special Techniques is a gorgeous pattern book for knitters. There is a wide array of beautiful scarf, shrug & shawl patterns in this collection. The creations in this book are meant to be made using Rowan Yarns. I myself have not tried any of these patterns, my review is based on the design, layout, clarity and variety within this book. However, looking within these pages makes me green with envy over people who can knit like this! The beautiful knitted designs within this book are showcased with clear and vibrant photos. These patterns look to be clearly written and in detail, with photographs and diagrams included. There's a section called Special Techniques, which shows how to complete a wide variety of techniques needed for the patterns. What I found to be an extra nice touch is that there is a section called How To Wear which explains the different ways to wrap and tie your knitted creations. The designer shows you different ways to wear your finished projects. One of the stole patterns can be worn in four different ways, as scarf, shrug, cape, poncho and bolero. I would have never thought of that without seeing the How To Wear section. Overall, I think with its nice variety of elegant knitted designs, Scarves, Shrugs & Shawls: 22 Knitted Designs with Their Special Techniques is a lovely pattern book for any knitters collection. I think this book would be for intermediate to advanced skill lever knitters. I myself am at beginners level, so I'll save these patterns for when I hone my knitting skills a bit more. Disclaimer: This review is my honest opinion. I did not receive any type of compensation for reading and reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers and designers, such as this one, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. St. Martin's Griffin sent me a free copy of this pattern book in exchange for a possible review.
