I thought it was a very good short story! There is only so much you can put in a short story and I admire how the writer took potential to surmise a fantastic image of encompassing the scene. Great Job! It was as if I were actually there and that takes talent! I understood what the writer's idea in composing the story, it really wasn't suppose to be scary but it was describing how disturbingly frightened his wife (Mary) became living remotely isolated in the middle of Grand Teton. And her husband (William) didn't help matters by entertaining her with his scary tales of the western days! I know if I'd witnessed all those eerie sounds living out in the middle of nowhere, my imagination would run away with me too! Overall I the writer did a great job, it isn't easy to sit an compose a good story, first it takes an imagination and the ability to sit down and write on paper, using just the right wording as to what you want the reader to experience! It takes skill and years of writing experience, believe me I know I wrote my first story and I want to say it took me over a year if not longer to write it. And I haven't written another one since then! :) Therefore I know I'm not a writer but I'm happy for those who do acquire the skill and diligence to create those great stories that entertains us and or we all love to read! The point I'm trying to make is that we shouldn't scorn someone's ability to do something, especially if you haven't tried it yourself. Godspeed!

The book scary mary is not even scary it is stupid all it is is a farm that is suposed to be svary but the way that the story described it it was not scary but when a husband and his wife is at the farm the husband tells her a story about scary mary and then the book ends so stupid.do not waste ur four dollars keep it for somthing better than a stupid book that is suposed to be scary but isnt im not rating this book on good things but im giving the book five stars for how terrible it is.

Now this man shouldn't have done his wife that way!  Didn't he have any clue that she was squeamish of his scary stories?  No wonder she killed him.  It was a very sad ending though!  Overall I rate it pretty good!  Decatur GA
