This book is action packed and full of twists that will leave you reeling! The author developed not only the main characters, but side characters as well. They're all neatly woven into a mysterious tale of treachery, hatred and a drive for revenge that pushes two lost loves into one another's arms. I fell in love with this story immediately and couldn't put it down! I can't wait to sink my teeth into book two! 5 stars!

This book was a great twist on shifters and phoenixes. Aurelia has been in hiding for about 150 years. She is hiding from her soldier, Rhys and her legion. She is a seer and seers are eventually expected to lose their eyes to become an oracle and have pure visions. Aurelia liked her eyes right where they are so her and her husband were planning on leaving. That night everything changed for her. Her husband and her soldier got into a fight and her soldier killed her husband. She then stabbed Rhys and that’s when she learned than they had been bond; she caused herself to have a matching wound. She has hated Rhys ever since. Now she being actively hunted by her legion’s primary Iva. She and Rhys will be thrown back together. Aurelia is going to learn things and she may not be able to deal with them right away. She is going to finally hear Rhys side of things. Will Rhys and Aurelia finally get a chance to be together? The phoenixes have been being led away from their purpose for a long time; will they be able to put a stop to that? So much more is going on than either of them know and they are about to find out all about it? Will they be able to change things? This book was a great read. Shifter books are one of my favorite genres. This book did a different take on shifters and some may not consider it a shifter book. The characters are fantastic and engaging. The book is wonderfully written. I am excited to read the next book in this series when it comes out. Annie Anderson is a great author. I can’t wait to see what is in store for everyone in the next book. I was given this book in return for an honest review

This is a fast-paced and action-packed story involving Wraiths and Phoenixes, so straight away you have something slightly different from the norm in PnR. There is a whole new world here, just waiting to be explored. Where you have Oracles and Seers, Soldiers and Scholars. Where torture is not unknown and you can be bonded to someone against your will. From a heartbreaking start to a climatic finish, this book will hit pretty much every emotion as you read it. You will laugh at Aurelia and her sassy, take no prisoners, attitude. And then there is the banter between her and Evan, Rhys, West and the rest of the crew. I get the feeling that this book has only just scratched the surface of what is to come, and I for one, am definitely looking forward to learning more! Definitely recommended. * I received this book from HEA Book Tours, PR & More in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
