About the Author

George Pinchuk obtained his M.D. from Kyiv Medical University, and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Medical Genetics of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the (former) USSR. In the latter institution, he worked in the Laboratory of Immunogenetics directed by Prof. L.A. Pevnitsky, who is a renowned immunologist and specialist in the mechanisms of immune tolerance. He has taught Immunology at Seattle Pacific University, and at the University of Washington. Having been appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences of Mississippi State University, he continues to do research in immunology and to teach this subject to 60 to 70 students each semester.
