Overview

School of Rock [Original Soundtrack]

Most rock movie soundtracks breed Hollywood with rock 'n' roll and deliver a litter divided between purebred radio classics and the listening equivalent of shaggy mutts. School of Rock is no exception, save that these mutts are the most lovable -- and, on occasion, the most vicious -- of the lot. "Heal Me, I'm Heartsick," credited to leading man Jack Black's onscreen band No Vacancy and penned by Craig Wedrin of Shudder to Think, manages to reconcile the latter band's jitters with Black's over-the-top delivery. Likewise, the Wylde Rattz (a supergroup of sorts, featuring members of Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, and the Stooges) dive into the latter band's "T.V. Eye" with feverish aggression. New-generation glamsters the Darkness wax spastically erotic on the falsetto-laced "Growing On Me," while the Black Keys slither through the bass-driven "Set You Free." The oldies, by and large, are to-the-point hard rockers (the Who's "Substitute," Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song"), but there are surprises on that end as well, such as T. Rex's "Ballroom of Mars." Well-chosen snippets of dialogue punctuate the disc, imparting some genuine chuckles that convey the tone of the flick perfectly.

There are many artist. The title of the album is School of Rock. THe music is rock music. the track that I like is " It's along way to the top. I like that song because you can Rock on.I will give it 4 stars because it is weird sometimes. I think that you can recommed the album. The worst song ever is "Immigrant Song," because it hurts my head and it also gives me a really bad headache.
