*2019 RONE Finalist*

A mother and child on the run. A dark Latino shifter with a secret. And the powerful fae who's after them all.

A secret baby romance with a paranormal twist...

Four years ago, Irish shifter Cassidy O'Byrne fell hard for a sexy Latino from the Rock Run Clan. Nic was dark, brooding—and irresistible. But Nic was keeping a secret, and in the end he left, unknowingly leaving her expecting their baby.

An orphan herself, Cassidy loves her three-year-old daughter with everything she has. But Nic's secret makes the little girl invaluable to the fae. When a powerful fae comes for Rianna, Cassidy runs with her to the only man who might be able to save them.

Nic never expected to see Cassidy again, but now that she's come to him, he'll do anything to keep her and his daughter. He just has to convince Cassidy to give him a second chance—and keep his newfound family safe from the fae.

NOTE: Sea Dragon's Hunger is Book 4.5 in the Fada Shapeshifters Series. All books are standalone with an HEA, but the stories interconnect. If you crave dark alpha shifters and intense emotional storylines, this book is for you.

Nic had been restless all day, and it was growing worse. His Irish mother had been a powerful Seer. Nic couldn't see the future like his mom, but he'd learned to trust his premonitions.

Trouble was on the way.

He dove into the water. The ocean was a seething mass. A wave crashed over Nic's head. Even in his man form, he could hold his breath much longer than a human.

But his animal wanted out.

Nic dove deep and let the shift take him. Energy rippled over his skin. For a few seconds, his body was a cluster of incandescent lights—blue, purple, green—before shaping itself into the powerful body of his sea dragon.

Nic arced in and out of the waves, reveling in the slide of salt water over his skin. He had rudimentary wings and could fly in short spurts, but the ocean was his element.

A school of common dolphins scattered at his approach, chittering anxiously to each other. In this form, Nic measured twenty-five feet from nose to tail, and he had the teeth and claws to match.

Nic ignored them. He might be a half-savage dragon, but he drew the line at eating something as intelligent as him.

In the sky above, lightning flashed, followed by a crash of thunder. Rain slashed down, pelting his dark-gold hide.

He dove beneath the waves, stopping a couple hundred feet down. Above him, the storm still raged, but this deep, the sound was muted, the black waters calm.

He glided through the midnight liquid, the premonition riding him like an itch that couldn't be scratched, teasing at a part of him buried so deep, he could go weeks without thinking about it.

Cassidy O'Byrne.

Pain sliced through him, fresh as the day he'd left Ireland—and her. He gritted his teeth and bore it.

Then his spine prickled. His dragon was racing for the surface before his mind caught up.

Cassidy was here—and she was in danger.

Sea Dragon's Hunger is the 4.5th book in The Fada Shapeshifter series. We meet Cassidy, a dolphin shifter mum who is doing her best to protect her sea dragon daughter from 'the bad men'. Fae are after her daughter because if they use a dragon's heart, their power grows times five. Cassidy will do anything to protect her daughter, including going to the father for help. Nic left Cassidy five years ago as he didn't want her to have the isolated life he knew he would have, and didn't know about Rianna. Unfortunately, Cassidy has ended up being hunted, despite Nic's best intentions. These two need to figure out what's going on between them now, before they can move forward - if they live long enough, that is. This is a well written and fast paced book, full of sweet and steamy moments. Rianna is precious, and the men in Nic's den are instantly smitten with her. Cassidy is a sassy character, strong in her own right, and definitely not just some doormat ruled by her hormones. With a flowing style, the scenes change smoothly from one to the next, and there were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. Although this book is number 4.5, it is the first in this series I have read, and I had no difficulty in staying with the story. Of course, it has left me wanting to read the others, just because ;) Most definitely recommended by me. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

I haven't read a sea dragon shifter before, but I really loved it :) There was just enough suspense, and the right amount of heat. This is definitely a book I would recommend to others.

Across The Sea.... Cassidy O'Byrne couldn't resist the dark brooding sexy latino Nico Do Rio when he was visiting his grandfather the alpha of the Fada Clan in Ireland. They had a passion filled romance, but he was very secretive and left her with a broken heart... Now after 4 year she flees her dear Ireland to the U.S in search of protection for her daughter from the man she never thought she would seek out Nico.. Their fragile thin bond takes her straight into the arms of the Sea Dragon. Nicolao Do Rio a water fada is the different one of his brothers, not even they know what his animal is. He never thought to have a chance at love again not after fleeing from Ireland and his mate Cassidy, but it was his only option, he would not condemn her to a life of running and hiding from the Fae that would always hunt him down a rare sea dragon for the power in his heart. Now he has her and a wee sea dragon in his arms and he wonders what he will do with this gift the gods have thrust into his lonely life. He knows he will protect them, but will he redeem himself in the eyes of the woman he loves and be a good father to his daughter.

Cassidy and her daughter are in dangerous trouble and the only 1 who can save them is her mate who rejected her 4 years ago. Nic never wanted a mate but now that Cassidy is here with his pup he can't turn his back on them. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is another book in the Bad Alpha Dads collection by various authors but is also part of the Fada Shapeshifter series by the author.

Totally entertaining Lots of excitement, action and very entertaining. The book starts out with Cassidy O’Byrne running from those that want her and or her daughter. She decides to run to the one man she thought she never would, the one man that broke her heart, but the one she thinks can keep her daughter safe. Nic left the one woman he thought he could never have. Never wanting the life he had to lead for her. But in comes crashing Cassidy back into his life, and her daughter. This is an extremely well written and very entertaining self-contained story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.

Wow! Ms. Rivard does it again! Each new book she writes exceeds my expectations and “Sea Dragon’s Hunger” is no different! ... I was totally blown away from the start to the finish and then beyond those 2 sad little words, “The End” :o coz I was left craving more! ... This author always surprises me with a totally fresh new storyline, wonderful attention-to-detail and the amazing way she breathes life into her well-defined and relatable characters! ... Add in the witty dialogue and smoking hot romance with a bit of suspense, and I was glued to my seat and turning pages not wanting to stop! I honestly recommend this to all adult fans of fiction & especially those who love romance and even Fantasy and PNR. I cannot wait for more, but I will :D
