Did you know that some sea turtles migrate up to 7,000 miles (11,265 kilometers) a year? Most species come ashore only to make nests and lay eggs-in the very same spots where they were born. Given my love animals and nature, I was excited to dive into this book. I was not disappointed. Part of a series of nonfiction books which explore animals that "are at risk and disappearing from our planet," it contains a wealth of information on sea turtles and their habitat. As well as the human and environmental dangers they face. The stunning photographs, along with the easily accessible text and underlying humor, made it fun and interesting to read. It would make a great addition to any nature or conservation curriculum , as well as any library. Currently, there are eight books in this series, written for ages 8-12 (grades 3-5).
