Three sister's reuniting together, after the death of their Mother, at a place with happy memories. They are at Nantucket Island, and reminiscing about their childhood visits there. While out on one of their adventures, they stumble upon the old Inn where they went to tea with Mom. Such sweet times, recapturing memories. Can just picture them poking around the deserted, and becoming run down inn. It is For Sale, and the oldest sister Caroline Marris, all of a sudden wants to buy it?? Can you imagine that change in your life? She has traveled, and has been staying in England. Sam Carter, another sister, takes a liking to the idea, but Gracie Gold cannot see giving up her life in Maine. She loves being needed by her Son and Daughter-In-Law, and their children. She is so torn. They need her money from their inheritance to buy the inn, where as she thinks she should give hers to her son. As I was reading this, I felt like I was one of the Sisters, and loved their adventures, a bit of bickering, and lots of laughs, and family friendship. I could almost smell the ocean, and want them to buy the inn, and find out the answers to some of the questions and mysteries they stumble upon. Once you started reading you won't want to put it down. I am so glad that there is another book in this series. I received this book through Litfuse Publicity Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

Seaside Harmony is the delightful tale of three middle aged sisters: Caroline Marris, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter, who reunite in Nantucket after their mother's funeral to revisit fond childhood memories of summers spent on the island. While on the island, they are dismayed to find that their mother's favorite place, the Misty Harbor Inn is now a rundown ramshackle that is on the market for sale. It had once been their mother's dream to own the historic inn, so Caroline talks her sisters into buying and restoring the inn back to its former glory and covert it into a B&B. As the three sisters work together to restore the inn, they reestablish their sisterly bond and close relationship after having drifted apart when they became adults, and along the way they stumble upon a mystery involving postcards from 1880 and the disappearance of Hannah Montague, the young widow of the inn's original owner. Seaside Harmony is the first book in the Postcards From Misty Harbor Inn series. The story is written in the third person narrative by a team of four authors who weave a wonderful tale that transports the reader to the idyllic island setting of Nantucket and follows Caroline, Gracie and Sam as they reminisce about their childhood memories, work through family issues, reestablish their relationship with each other, and discover a mystery surrounding the inn from 1880. You can't help but become captivated by the sisters' adventures as they work together to make their mother's dream a reality, while also becoming amateur sleuths when they investigate the mystery surrounding the 1880 disappearance of Hannah Montague. I really enjoyed the storyline's intertwining theme of restoration: from the three sisters learning to reestablish their family bond and relationships, to making their mother's dream a reality in restoring the inn, this is a heartwarming story that readers can relate to. An added bonus of including an intriguing mystery and a touch of romance keeps the reader engaged and wanting to continue to follow Caroline, Gracie and Sam's adventures in the remaining books in the series. Seaside Harmony is a delightful start to a new series that will captivate the reader's imagination and leave them looking forward to another enchanting visit to Misty Harbor Inn.

Evangeline Kelley in her new book "Seaside Harmony" Book One in the Postcards from Misty Harbor Inn series published by Summerside Press takes us into the lives of Caroline Marris, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter. From the back cover: Three sisters. A charming inn. Hints of mystery and romance. And a gorgeous seaside setting. Escape to Misty Harbor Inn. When Caroline Marris joins her sisters, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter for a Nantucket Island getaway, she has no idea how it will change her life. The sisters stumble upon Misty Harbor Inn, the place their late mother loved so much, and Caroline talks her sisters into buying the beautiful but dilapidated inn. But can free-spirited Caroline stay focused enough to make opening the inn a reality? Hand-drawn old postcards draw the sisters into the mystery of Hannah Montague, the young widow of the original owner. Can the sisters uncover the fate of this woman who disappeared in 1880? As Caroline and her sisters work together to make their mom's dream a reality, they bond in ways they never expected. You'll delight in the inviting setting and be enthralled by the adventures of these three very different sisters who reunite to bring their mother's Misty Harbor dreams to life. An abandoned inn that is run-down and for sale. A mother's dream of owning the inn is re-birthed within her daughters and a story takes flight. Caroline, Gracie and Sam are spending two weeks in Nantucket to heal and grieve from the death of their mother. Then they discover the Nantucket Inn and it can be purchased outright if they combine the inheritance of all three sisters. However not all three sisters want to move and live in Nantucket or own the inn. "Seaside Harmony" is not only about the restoration of an old inn, it is the restoration of a dream for the daughters that the mother had. It is also about the restoration of the relationships between the sisters that, like the inn, had deteriorated over the years. "Seaside Harmony" is a lot of fun. There is even a mystery that is going to have to be resolved. What I liked the most was that while the sisters are in their fifties and sixties they can still purchase and run an inn and have exciting lives. "Seaside Harmony" is a wonderful, sweet story with power and depth that will keep you flipping pages. Postcards from Misty Harbor Inn Nook HD Giveaway and Facebook Party {5/9}! I've always imagined what it might be like to open a Bed and Breakfast in some wonderful location and that's just what the premise is behind Seaside Harmony by author Evangeline Kelley. In this charming and poignant novel, three sisters, Caroline Marris, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter revisit Nantucket to share once more in the fond memories from their childhood and the passing of their mother. Her mother had always dreamed of one day owning the now vacant Misty Harbor Inn, and restoring it to the grandeur of the Inn it once was. Now that the three sisters are in their later years, Caroline and Sam feel a pull to resurrect the dream of their mom now that the Inn is for sale and is in need of much renovations. They feel if they can all pool their mother's inheritance money than they wouldn't have to finance the Inn and could own it outright, but Gracie is resolved to not get involved in the purchase because leaving her home would mean giving up the memories that she shared with her husband who has died. Not only that she feels she has found a useful place now that she is in her sixties of being grandmother to her grandchildren. She just isn't ready to give everything up she worked to establish and doesn't believe that Sam and Caroline know what they would be getting into by taking on the renovations and ownership of the Misty Harbor Inn. However is it possible that with all the history surrounding the Inn and all the antiques found within the home that there is more here than simply renovating and running a B & B in the heart of Nantucket? What about the missing wife of the original owner that seemingly vanished without a trace? Are there more to the rumors of secret passages and rooms than merely being island myths? Is it possible that God has a different adventure in mind for these three sisters at the later stage in their life than they ever dreamed possible? You'll have to read this delightful summer novel, Seaside Harmony to find out. I spent the weekend enjoying the opportunity to do something I've always wanted to do without spending any money but still have the same thrill that each of the women experienced in seeing this come to life in their own ways. I received Seaside Harmony compliments of Litfuse Publicity and Guideposts Publishing for my honest review and received no monetary compensation for a favorable one. This is a truly restoration story not only as the sisters work on the efforts to restore the Inn to its former glory but also to restore their own broken relationships in new ways. Gracie will need to come to terms that she isn't abandoning her family but merely understanding that her own children need to take a turn at raising their own family instead of relying on grandmother to be a permanent babysitter; for Caroline it will be to prove to her sisters and herself that despite being so free-spirited, she can find roots in something more permanent and for Sam who longs for someone other than herself to cook for and experience what flavors life has to offer them all. I easily rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and this makes for the perfect summer novel to pick up to read while being at the beach! Seaside Harmony is the first book in Postcards from the Misty Harbor Inn Series.

Seaside Harmony by Evangeline Kelly is the first of three books in the new Postcard from Misty Harbor Inn series. In this first novel, the reader is introduced to three sisters and their dream of owning a bread and breakfast: Caroline, the oldest sister (aged 61), Sam, the middle sister and Gracie, the youngest (52 years old). Each of the sisters is vastly different in personality and lifestyle. Caroline is the oldest, yet is a free spirit, never having had married, spending her life traveling. Yet, despite her age and life experience abroad, she is surprisingly naïve as she had never considered marriage with her life long "friend", George, who she had known for thirty years. Gracie is depicted as a lonely widow, sensible, dependable and devoted to family, who lives life through her grown children and grandchildren. Sam is considered the peacekeeper or mediator between the two sisters. She divorced shortly after marriage and raised her only daughter as a single mom. The three sisters start a new life together in purchasing and renovating an old piece of property and with the goal of transforming it into an Inn in Nantucket. Each sister has her own personal battles with eachother as well as their own lives- in addition to the complexities of purchasing an investment property in Nantucket. There is also a mystery to solve concerning one of the original residents who disappeared from the inn. The sisters find themselves lured by local tales of intrigue and speculation which lead them to investigate into the history of the house. The old inn is a treasure house of antiques, trinkets and there is even an old antique car and grand piano left behind from the original owners to boot! The sisters find old artifacts including mysterious postcards hidden within the seams of an old porcelain doll's dress. History buffs, antique collectors and mystery fans will be intrigued by the plot. Having had read books two and three in the series first, I found that this first book provided valuable insight into the personalities and backgrounds of the three sisters. The second two novels were faster paced and more action packed. This novel was a bit slow to start, in fact the sisters don't actually close on the purchase of the inn until two thirds into the book. Most of the novel is staging the backdrop for the series, exploring each of the sisters' unique personalities and the emotions involved in investing into an inn. Many readers will appreciate the emotional and financial considerations each of the sisters faced when facing their own life transitions such as career change, retirement, moving or widowhood. Postcards from Misty Harbor Inn is an entertaining, yet wholesome series that is NOT Amish and NOT a romance novel. This series earns the designation "Christian" because of the brief yet notable passing references to God, and natural beauty and church. Nevertheless, even non religious readers will enjoy this book as it is not "preachy". Evangeline Kelly is actually a pen name for a team of women that authored the new series: Patti Berg, Pam Andrews, Barbara Hanson and Camy Tang. The writing is enjoyable and well written- offensive slang writing and individual eccentricities or opinions do not interfere or detract from the writing as is often case in books authored bymany modern writers. It is refreshing to read a that breaks free from the stereotypical young, beautiful heroine whose life's only mission is to snag a husband. Social norms are challenged and reworked. Based on the book market one might conclude that all readers are in their young twenties looking for their first love! Yet this book series, and its main characters, three middle aged sisters, will have a wider appeal to include an often overlooked group of readers that is often alienated. Rather than the too often used naïve 19 year old young Amish girl looking to marry for the first time, or the young widowed 24 year old woman in the old West, pursuing a weathered cowboy on a horse, pondering remarriage, this book is not focused on marriage or romance or young beautiful heroines. In fact the author portrays the three middle aged sisters with respect and dignity, capable of being fashionable, independent and adventurous whereas society all too often confines such demographic groups to the limited the role of a spinster. I happened to win a copy of the book Sunflower Summer through Litfuse publicity, published by Guideposts publishers. After reading this second book, I just had to read the first!

This is the story of three sisters who return to Nantucket to enjoy the memories of their mother. Their mom's dream has always been to wn Misty Harbor Inn so now the sisters decide to put their money together and open it in her honor. Grace has a few misgivings about opening the inn as she does not want to leave her husband's memories. There is some mystery thrown in with the overall story  of this book but not so much as it is the main part of the story. This book is a good wholesome read that will make you want to take a trip to a seaside inn and enjoy the surrounding. I think the author did a good job with both the characters and setting of the book to make you feel very much a part of the whole scene. I received this book from Litfuse in exchange for a fair and honest review. I give it three stars.
