I like this story, but wanted to know more about Lillian's mother and more of life after marriage.

Julie Johnstone has written a beautiful, highly romantic story of love. Nick doesn't want a wife, and for Lillian a husband is the last thing she wants. Nick has a strong desire to heal Lillian, to make her childhood dream come true, and just maybe heal his own heart in the process. This story swept me up from the beginning, it is such a sweet romance. It really is the best short story I've read that feels like a novel. This is a must read for all romantics, it won't disappoint, in fact it will leave you with a smile on your face and in your heart.

After reading this novella, the first thing that comes to mind is that everyone deserves redemption. This was a wonderful story. I would actually rate it 4 1\2 stars. I truly enjoyed both characters. Lillian was such a strong and determined woman even with all that she has been through. Nick is a man with a past, who believes he is incapable of loving another until he meets Lillian. Because of past bad decisions, he has sworn of getting close to any woman. I would recommend this novella to anyone who loves reading about the Regency Era, anyone who enjoys a short read, and those who enjoy great love stories. Julie Johnstone has truly created a lovely treat in Season For Surrender!

I was very fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book.  I am always excited to hear she has a new release coming.  Having read her other books I do believe this is the best one yet.  I really enjoyed the story of Nicholas and Lillian and how they found love and acceptance with each other.  It's a great mix of fun, suspense and passion.  The romance kept my attention through the whole book.  Not over-the-top, but a well written romance!

Touching love story 4.5 stars I have just finished reading TIS THE SEASON FOR SURRENDER by Julie Johnstone, which is part of the anthology A Gentlemen's Pact! I liked her characters Nicholas and Lillian. The story starts as Lillian has inherited some money and a theatre, which she loved, from her father who died. But, in order to be able to keep it all, she must marry a lord; here comes Nicholas to save her. His family wants him to marry and give them a grandchild, or he will lose his inheritance. Both want to keep their independence and inheritances and decide a plan to marry in name only. But as soon as Nicholas and Lillian started to share secrets of their pasts, a touch of tenderness will grow then develop into a beautiful love relationship. Both have to forget the past and move forward in their lives. You need to read it to discover their touching story! This novella is a beautiful love story, well written, funny, it's also a story of forgiveness. I will definitely be reading more books by Ms. Johnstone. If you love a story set in the Regency era, then this book is perfect for you. I strongly recommend it, you will love it!

Julie Johnstone has quickly became one of my favorite historical romance authors. I like her style of writing and she has a great talent for telling an interesting story. Season for Surrender is a relatively quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I don't normally judge a book by it's cover but when I love the cover as much as I love the story inside I always feel the need to mention the beautiful cover work. Check out that beautiful cover, that along with Julie Johnstone's name would make me want to pick up this book.  Lillian Lancaster has had a lot of things happen in her life and most of them have been really bad. This poor girl is still very strong and independent and trying to take care of people that are very  important to her. Her jerk of a father has left a will that says she has to marry or lose the theater that means so much to her. The very last thing she ever wants to do is marry after her past experiences. However she is determined to save the theater and the jobs of the people that work there.  Lord Edgeworth is determined to never marry. He is just not interested in that type of headache. So when his family says he must marry or his grandfather is taking away all support, he has a big decision to make. When Lillian suggest a marriage of convenience, they both think this is the perfect answer.  I loved that this marriage started off with respect for each other and things developed from there for both of them. I don't want to tell you too much about this wonderful story. I want you to go grab your own copy and enjoy it for yourself. I will tell you that I found this to be one tremendously sweet story that I truly enjoyed reading. There is plenty of drama and a steamy scene or two that kept me flipping pages quickly. If you enjoy a good historical romance, I think you will enjoy this one. If you are already a fan of Julie Johnstone then don't wait, hurry! Go grab a copy of this book so you may start enjoying Lillian and Edgeworth's story. I think you are going to love this story, I know that I certainly did.  I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Season for Surrender.
