I really liked this book. It is a wonderful second chance at love romance. I loved the characters, well most of them anyway. The author Casey Dawes developed well rounded characters, to the point that you can love or hate them. The story invoked some drastic emotions in me. I LOVED the protectiveness that Findlay had for Kerry Anne. I really enjoyed how Reese was determined to show Findlay how he as changed, and is worth giving their relationship going forward a chance. There is some intrigue in this book, some things that will keep you guessing. The book left me with some unanswered questions that, for me, needed to be answered in regard to the relationship between Findlay and Reese’s father. I think there needed to be… stop no spoilers, and I do not want to give anything away. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Dawes, and I will certainly pick up more of her books in the future. I really liked her writing style. Thank you NetGalley and Adams Media, Crimson Romance for the gift of this book. I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for reading my review.

A complex and sweet Christmas second chance romance. Findlay has moved back home, now a single mother to a child, Kelly Anne, with some special needs. As she faces the custody battle for her daughter with her ex-husband, she needs to establish that she is able to take care of her. When she gets a job programming, she never expects to run into her childhood love that broke her heart, Reese. Reese came home to run one of his father’s business after he has health issues. As he works to establish that he can handle the job, he is shocked to see Findlay at the office. One of his regrets is breaking up with her on his dad’s orders after Findlay’s father was accused of embezzlement. These two deserve a second chance but there is so much hurt and distrust, can they ever overcome their feelings? As this journey unfolds, secrets are revealed, is there more to what happened when they were teenagers? I enjoyed Findlay’s strength as she copes with picking up her life and starting over but she also has to realize how the past has shaped her relationships. There is so much more to this story than just the wonderful romance between Findlay and Reese.
