From an early age, Mara Westbrook has led a troubled life. With no one to trust or rely on, she meets a breathtakingly handsome soldier on her ward at Walter Reed. He captures her eye and makes her yearn for things she never thought possible, not for a girl like her. Can she move beyond the traumatic secrets of her past and risk giving love a try?
Injured and in pain, the only light in Master Sergeant Sean O'Brien's dark days is his night nurse, his blonde haired, green eyed, deliciously curvy, modern day nightingale. Seeing her in those tight scrubs, tending to him and his fellow soldiers with her sweet, yet sexy smile eases the pain in his throbbing leg. Unfortunately, it shifts the ache about six inches higher. He sets out to make her his own, to earn her trust, her love and in the end her ultimate submission.
They come together beautifully with Sean teaching her the wicked and wonderful ways of a D/s lifestyle. Mara blossoms under his sensual domination and his firm but loving discipline, but her past won't let her be. Relentlessly pursuing her and threatening her idyllic life with Sean. To protect what she holds dear, she does unspeakable things leading to more secrets, lies and betrayal. She runs as she always does. When Mara unwittingly becomes the key witness to events that will finally bring down the Mendoza Cartel, Sean and the Rossi team step in to keep her safe. As her handler, Sean must protect her with his life and Mara must obey him in order to survive. Thrown together under impossible circumstances, Sean learns the awful truth of her past and realizes that despite it all, he still loves her. But can he forgive the lies? And will Mara be able to live under Sean's stringent rules, learning to trust and submit fully to the only man she's ever loved?

About the Author
Maddie started writing as a hobby. Her stories stayed private while she raised a family and worked full time as a registered nurse. It wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to take the plunge and submit her first book for publication: Captain My Captain. She found acceptance at Blushing Books and published an impressive twelve novels the first year.
She’s still juggling writing with her day job and you’ll find her working at her laptop into the wee hours of the night, scribbling plot ideas onto the notebook she always keeps handy, and working out the details of a scene while floating around in her pool with a lemon drop in hand. Don’t be surprised if you see her pulling over on the side of the road to capture an idea for a scene on paper, because as Maddie says, her best ideas always come when there isn’t a pen in a five-mile radius.

I love this next installment in the Club Decadence Series. Sean O'Brien is a patient at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital due to yet another injury from the war in the Middle East. He is under the care of Nurse Mara Westbrook, as he puts it “..the only bright spot in his long, pain-riddled past few days”. When the only way she can get him to take his pain medicine is to agree to a date (that she wanted to agree to anyway) it is just the beginning of a long, rocky relationship. She has more secrets than the government he works for and she doesn't want him to know any of them. It was great to read about so many of the characters from the previous books. “Lucky” and Mara's relationship was riveting, the dynamics real and believable. Toward the end it seemed to need more connections from scene to scene. There were times that something was alluded to at the beginning of a scene with little explanation yet these brief glimpses seemed important to the story.
This is one of my favorite series, ever, and every time I read a new addition it is as if I am visiting with friends. Honestly. This book has so much to offer with a detailed plot, danger, suspense, romance, love and the length is to die for. Sean and Mara's story had me laughing, cheering and crying at times, their story grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Maddie Taylor has hit it out of the park with this installment and I am so looking forward, patiently waiting (seriously, who am I kidding), and anxiously anticipating the next. If you haven't read this series you should just buy the whole set and settle in for a fantastic time because you are missing a wonderful thing if you don't.
